I know I'll regret this.
Leb do you think Gibson committing influences any other recruits in this class?
Let's just focus on that without going into the numbers, positions, etc that have been beat to death. I don't think anyone wants to go over that crap again.
With him committing so late, I doubt it would affect much at all IF UT decided to take him. I expect the class to be just about full, if not full by Dec. DJ Jones and Maybe Martin would be the 2 I could see possibly waiting to announce after the Dec 8th date that has been mentioned for some of the Juco kids.
Who do you will think will leave the roster or decommit to make room?
I have no clue.
The only current recruit I see as questionable now is Woods. And even that depends on how accurate the news was he had some "issues". He was just on campus and looked to be very happy standing next to CBJ and talking "family". Another pic yesterday of him and Cecil at the 7 on 7 mentioned "family". We'll see what happens there.
As for kids on the roster, I would never discuss that. Most know my opinion on that and I would not "cut/drop" any kid unless he was a cancer to the team or was not doing what he should be doing. If I wanted more out of a player, I would coach him harder. If it came to a point where he did not want to be a Vol, I would then accept HIS decision to move on. I would not hold meetings with kids suggesting they walk away to make room. Just would not happen. That's just me though.

I would have those convos all day long and twice on sunday....as a player you get what you earn.
And as the coach, Of course I would be in a position to make sure a kid "earned it". As I said, if I need to see more from the player, I coach him harder. Still not enough, I turn the dial to 11. He'll get better, he'll earn his spot, or HE will choose to seek other options. I won't need to make that decision for him. As long as the kid is giving 100%, I'm committed to him just as he committed to me and my program. Simple as that for me.
TY, seems few folks see things as I do. Especially when it comes to valuing those kids who chose to be Vols.
If it was my kid I would care. They are not so I want what is best for the team. I would value better players that want to be Vols over not as good players who want to be Vols. Its a business.
Do you think recruits and their families would be as receptive to CBJ changing his ideals from "family" and "foundation" to "it's a business, put out or get out"?
Would be interesting to see how that would play.
