Sergeant Vol, you can look through all my posts and you won't see one where I say that I don't want TG to be a Vol. Nice try though. I would love to have him on the roster. But if his character issues are bad enough for Urban Meyer and other SEC coaches to back off on recruiting him, then no thanks.

This is by far the most entertaining thread of all time.. I was gonna start a new tv series since I caught up on GoT and finished Boardwalk Empire... But this thread is enough entertainment..

But I do think it's at least possible that Tennessee ultimately could back off Gibson. It's a somewhat tricky situation for the Vols, considering that Gibson is involved with a number of their other current targets, and completely backing off Gibson might leave a sour taste in the mouths of some of the guys he knows. But I would not consider him one of UT's top targets at this point, if that makes sense.

Since when does "Its at least possible" mean we will for sure? It means its possible but not necessarily likely. You are the psychic apparently. Since you know "its at least possible" means definitely.

Him and Hubbs are experts. Neither said we are for sure backing off or for sure we are not still at the top of his list. People did the same with Ferguson reports. Twisted them to fit their narrative. Instead of going by with what they say they want to read a bunch of extra nonsense into it.

You have still yet to answer the part about the sour taste of backing off. He is CLEARLY IMPLYING we will be backing off. No longer a top target meams he won't be pursued as hard. When you're not pursued as hard, it means we backed off

Sure if you say so. Most people think "its at least possible" means there is a chance but not exactly likely. I saw the sour taste part. Also not a sure thing since he said "MIGHT leave a sour taste". Its more telling that he is involved with so many of our recruits. And maybe he isn't at the very top of the list now. That doesn't mean we backed off or don't want him. I'm sure he is behind KM, Richmond, Sapp and a couple more due to needs and having 2 qbs. That doesn't mean we would turn him or away or don't want him.

Keep reading more into what they say than is there though. Just don't be surprised when Gibson commits.

Fellas I could understand denial if just Hubbs or Callahan said we are backing off but not when both have similar words. You typically should listen with both sites have same info.

I was thinking OSU site had sour grapes bringing up some issues but it sounds like there are some things we should be really cautious about.

Don't think so. Butch is bringing in as much talent as possible but he also recruits to player profile as he refers to it. According to Swain today, after TGs 5 day stay in Kville a couple weeks back we may have cooled ob him because he perhaps doesn't exactly fit the profile in terms of his "intangibles". Tifwiw.

VN starts to party like its 1998 because of this news.

Around 11 a.m., Hubbs and Callahan both drop nukes simultaneously, saying that we are not recruiting TG as hard as most think and that we may not even lead.

Leb/Butchna/Tux parties like its 1998


The TG thread then diverts back into the dumpster fire/pissing match status that it usually is

95% of VN abandons thread again
