No sh!t? We didn't run the triple option last year either and Butch ran more prostyle spreads at both previous stops. Dormady will fit our system perfect TG really doesn't, inaccurate passing is detrimental in this system

@TNswag98 @KM1_Era I think they did
I get what you're saying, but it isn't like inaccurate passing is beneficial in any system.
But I don't think that our system is the deciding factor here in any case. If TG wanted to commit a month ago, TG would be our 2nd QB this cycle. We may end up better for having taken Dormady instead, and it's still possible that we take TG as a third option. But none of that hinges solely on what system we run.
You don't really think that, though. Not only would you (surely) not want a #1 player with serious character issues, but you wouldn't (I hope) support UT taking a 25 person class that consists solely of the top 10 QB's and the top 15 RB's on the 247 board. That would be among the best classes ever when it comes to ratings, but it would be absolute garbage for the Vols football team.
I think that we would/should probably take Gibson if he came in tomorrow and wanted to make it official. But it isn't insane to say "we are closing in on a full class, and if we have to choose between a player like Phillips, DJ Jones, or DeBerry on the one hand, and Gibson on the other, an impact player at a position of need trumps a third QB in this cycle".
People seriously need to stop acting like either side of this debate consists solely of lunatics. The Gibson debate is a tough one, with good reasons in favor of each position. And, those of you who think that he is a 100% no questions asked take might be finding out otherwise if the report today is corroborated.
