Taking Joc & Jaylond does not make much sense to me. Kind of a weird situation there. Do you see both sticking?
No way in hell we turn away Oliver or Bruce at this point. We need ins at Oakland for years to come and you can't take and then turn away a Knox kid. Woods is a different story IMO. I agree generally you are more careful offering instate guys because you climb there list fast anyways like Oliver for example. He named Louisville his leaders right before the UT offer and committed to the good guys shortly after. I'm not speculating on anyone besides Woods, but I have a few in mind. Also I could see asking Lovingood to GS. Can't pull the scholly altogether though. What did most of the "de-commits"/change their minds have in common last year? They were not instate kids.
Would CBJ stack the class with instate kids then pull the rug out from under them late? I'd guess no.
IMO he took Woods, Bruce, and Oliver because they were talented instate options. Now IF Woods does have some "issues", of course his shot at being a Vol is up in the air. We'll see what happens.

Yep. It makes perfect sense for him to GS and then come in and RS. Probably have his masters by the time he's done on the gridiron :lol:Ive been saying this is a possibility IMO. Giampapa is only a JR. Its not common to have 2 LS on scholarship at the same time.

Oh I got my classes confused. You're right.Would it not be a better idea for him to be on campus a year vs being a GS and thrown into the fire his 1st year? I just think you try and yank a kids scholarship with the GS talk and all a sudden we are looking at a another school coming in with a ship for THIS year and the kid is gone. I know the Horky situation was a bit different as he was asked to walk-on, but a GS is too risky IMO IF a kid has other options.

If he was a GS, he would end up being an EE. So he would have some time on campus. Im not saying "yank his scholarship", Im just saying the coaches could have mentioned it from the get go. If he were to head elsewhere, you still have another recruiting cycle to pick one up while Giampapa is still on campus. The new LS likely wont start until Fall of 2016
I get all the reasoning. I just recall when he committed he specified it was on scholarship on twitter I think. Things could change of course, but I would not risk it. If you got your guy, especially him being instate, just pay the price.
Im not talking about a Swafford Grayshirt were he walks on and then on scholarship. Im talking about him going on scholarship when he steps on campus (Jan 2016). You could tell the kid (from the start) that he would likely redshirt for Giampapas SR year, or he could grayshirt and come in 5 months later and start. Just have to live up to the promises.
I don't get the Lovingwood commit at all. We've used walkon long-snappers since the dawning of time. I mean seriously...burning a scholarship for a 240lb longsnapper?
