I really don't see these two as debatable. If we weren't still recruiting him, he wouldn't name us his leader. And of course he wants to play here, that's why we are his leader.
As for this 2016 qb debate, if we redshirt Gibson we don't need a 2016 qb.
It has been very clear this year that the UT staff is still recruiting kids who they would absolutely not take today. There have been many examples of this already this cycle with UT leading for kids and them trying to commit to the Vols and UT not taking them.
IF they took Gibson/RSed him and by doing so missed on a 2016 QB, then TG ended up being moved to WR after his RS season, then it does matter that you missed in 2016.
Most of us want Gibson on the team. There are a handful that don't for reasons that are just utterly stupid. Those people would actually be happy that one of the country's most electric players decided to lay somewhere else. It's sad actually. As bad as we have been, you would think every fan would want as many highly talented players as possible to come here.

Not when you have JJ and Dormandy also. And most likely they both redshirt also.
We all want talented players in Orange. A lot of us would just rather use the scholarship on a position of need and on a kid who will actually make an impact at his position and not be an "issue" for our Vols.
You're stuck on the *'s and that's alright. I'm just glad our coaches are not.
I would still without hesitation pass on a 3rd QB in 2015 to add a talented QB in 2016 who could then RS and space the kids out roster wise. Also I could see it playing out where if QD can EE, then he may not RS. He would be IMO #3 at worst and possibly even #2 behind Dobbs going into 2015.
Dobbs SR
Dormady SO
Peterman RSJR
Jennings RSFR
Kendall(or whoever) TFR(RS)
Headed into 2016 would set us up well IMO.

I included those because of the speculation about why he is (or is not) at the same school/put the work in at QB etc., and the fact that while TG lists us first, the list extends beyond UT. I agree that both seem fairly likely. Ultimately, you may well be correct, but at this point I think neither can be completely nailed down. JMO
We wouldn't be his leader if we weren't recruiting him hard. Not sure why he'd be an "issue" for our Vols. Have any evidence? Anything that has been floated out by reporters has been refuted by other reporters. Nothing has been from the schools, coaches, or TG.

How many kids have tried to commit to Tennessee this year and been told 'No" by the staff? It has played out numerous times. It's hilarious people keep using the "we are his leader because the staff is all in". IMO there are just too many other sources saying it's just not true beyond TG himself.
I get that some folks have tried to refute the "issues". The fact is about the same time these "issues" came to light, AU started to push for other QBs, OSU took another QB, and UT took another QB. Many sources still talk about him having "issues" tied to his recruitment. You can choose to allow the *'s to blind you. I choose not to.
You've been wrong before so might as well keep spewing. You must have no faith in the staff to think that we wouldn't be able to get a 2016 QB after JJ and TG get on campus. We did get Dobbs in January and there are still good 2015 QB recruits in play. 2016 QB is a non-issue in Gibson's recruitment.

"Trent Dilfer on Torrance Gibson (@quick_tg6): 'I believe he should be and can be a QB at the next level.' #TheOpening #Vols"
"More Dilfer on @quick_tg6 : 'If you give (Gibson) a year or two to develop at the quarterback position, he could win the Heisman trophy.'"
Dilfer must be mistaken I guess. So he is saying that after his senior season and a RS season, Gibson could be a very good QB? Wow. Pretty good endorsement there.
It is clear if TG wants to come he has an open invitation from Butch to do so despite the conspiracy drama posted on here. Trent Dilfer knows what he is talking about as has been proven multiple times. I remain hopeful, but realize other programs want him as well. Elite QB of the future for somebody.
I have never seen so many people so split on a recruit....half of you think he'll play here or the barn. The other half think he may make it at Slippery Rock U.
