Of course I have been wrong before. I give a lot of opinions on a lot of situations. I am not afraid to be wrong. I just don't fall in line so much with the popular vote if my opinion is different. I have faith in the staff. Them choosing to take a passing QB in QD WHILE TG was on campus told me all I needed to know about where they stood with 2015 QB recruiting.

After getting Peterman in 2012, the new staff was able to get 2 QBs in 2013. We won't go into "how" they got 2 in 2013 as that has been hashed out before. After getting 2 in 2013, they could not get a QB to even give them a sniff in 2014. 32 signees, and no QB. The staff kept swinging, and kept missing. You can choose to ignore it, but it is what it is. I'd rather not see it happen in 2016.

JMO
Ferguson redshirted. That mitigated the staff not getting a a QB in the '13 class.
How would a 3 QB situation in this class be any different? I'm assuming that the staff would possibly sit one of the three, possibly change the position of another and have a field-ready QB for the '14 class.
This thread is too entertaining to not keep up with but you monotonously push the opinion that UT wouldn't take a very talented player (*'s being taken out of the equation) who has been endorsed by a nationally recognized authority whose credibility is at risk (Dilfer) simply because we wanted to get an extra OL is ridiculous.

How many times will the same arguments be posted here over and over and over and over? Can't we just agree to disagree and see how things will play out? I wish I had the will power to not click on this thread, but dang, when I do, I feel like:

Dilfer is a talking head on ESPN...if he's wrong on a guess on a high school recruit, what's the gamble or "risk"?...his gig on NFL Live?

He's better than that!...Appalachian State is a quality program. :)

Off topic, but I really hope App State gets it together and can make some noise in D1 in the next few years...That campus is absolutely beautiful, and the stadium being nestled right in the mountains is awesome.

Right there with you...I can see a "Boise State" of the South...without that godawful field. :)

Teran Johnson (@TeranJ_WUTK)
"Trent Dilfer on Torrance Gibson (@quick_tg6): 'I believe he should be and can be a QB at the next level.' #TheOpening #Vols"

"More Dilfer on @quick_tg6 : 'If you give (Gibson) a year or two to develop at the quarterback position, he could win the Heisman trophy.'"

Dilfer must be mistaken I guess. So he is saying that after his senior season and a RS season, Gibson could be a very good QB? Wow. Pretty good endorsement there.

He needs to be on Volnation more IMO.

Yeah I can see the press release now...Formerly esteemed NFL analyst loses job. Network execs cite "bad guess on glorified reality show". :good!:

"Poster on local message board misreads post. Decides to postpone reading comprehension class for 8th donut"

Dilfer's ability to evaluate QB potential is at stake. Pretty sure that Gibson will be playing QB at Miami, B*tchna. If Dilfer is wrong on Gibson's potential at QB then, yes, his credibility takes a hit. They aren't just handing out those ESPN talking head gigs.

Wish we would have landed Gibson at any position. I like Dormady and Jennings a lot. Going to be a great recruiting class.

In an interview about how he took over the Elite 11 from the founder...Bret and Rob Johnson's father, Dilfer talked about how at 42, he has about eight more years before he goes into the ministry...the guy doesn't live and die by his instant impressions on a prospect...it's all guts and gusto and rah rah rah on that production...and like well done reality shows, it does well for their ratings...the reason they wanted him for the show (despite him declining several times) is his propensity for bombast and hyperbole. It's good TV!...if he's wrong about Woulard,Sean White or Gibson, his "cred" takes no hit...high school 7 on 7 QB evaluations are a crapshoot...pure and simple...take from it what you want. Lost me on the "donut" thing...doctors tell you to say that? :w00t:

I guess you could be right. He was just trying to make some noise on the show. The kids are actually attending his camp to jump start their own record labels and he has zero skin in the QB analysis game.

As far as the donuts; I love them. I Mean I really really love donuts. So my implying that you are on your 8th of the day just means that I want the best for you and we should probably hang out.

:)

Get an apartment together huh? :eek:k: As for the motivation of kids and why they would want to be on ESPN? :dunno:

Early indications are that Ricky Town ain't no budding Marshall Mathers. :search:
