He might think he'll walk into a starting role, but OSU's backup QB is no slouch.

Would be quite the get for Butch and staff. Plenty to sell with the weapons at WR and RB coming in/already on campus. Hopefully he makes it up for a visit this spring otherwise our chances are pretty slim.

Meyer now has a track record of not living up to his commitments or lying about them.

I know this sounds like sour grapes but it really isn't. The kind of kid who would buy Meyer's snake oil is not the kind of kid UT needs.

The Butch factor guys. Don't give up. If we win this year and Butch wants him, anything is possible. Maybe he will wanna play in the SEC instead of the chump azz Big 10.

Between Gibson, Stidham and Gentry, I have to roll with Gibson, and it's not close. I try to avoid hyperbole, but I honestly think he could have us in the SEC championship picture in his first year. His film is phenomenal. I would like to get I4Jay's thoughts on Gibson, he is usually money with the Florida recruits.

he likes UT enough to have Vols in top 3 so giving up on a long shot a yr out is crazy. With that being said Fla kids just have this thing for Ubrz. Its a few kids committed to big 3 who would be buckeyes if it wasnt for distance. Gibson is Meyer top target and he's the main recruiter. One of the UM guys said once he commits 4-5 top fla kids will follow. Kid of like Tebow with Spikes Harvin Caldwell.

Meyer has promised Gibson that he will make him the next Aaron Hernandez. Urbie's promised Gibson's parents that he will take him in and treat him like his own son just like he did Hernandez.
What more could a prospect or parent want?

No you dont.....there have been plenty of record setting QBs play in a spread.
A QBs primary job is to throw the ball.
We aren't Oregon.


With that said I'd love to have this guy.

We aren't Oregon but if we are gona run this fast pace zone read wouldn't we want to play offense like Oregon? I mean they have perfected it. Mix in some smash mouth running and an SEC defense. Oregon= good offensive blue print for the spread zone read FYI.

We've offered him, and he's interested right now. But, if he doesn't end up at TOSU, it would be an absolute shock to most people who follow recruiting. Our QB situation is pretty ugly right now, and we'll probably lose 1 after the spring game, which will open it up some.

it's extremely rare for a school to have 4 highly recruited qb's on campus and Ohio States QB situation looks much prettier than ours. And with the playoff, Ohio state will almost assuredly be given a spot if they lose no more than 1 time, and possibly twice.

I would give us a <5% chance to pull him, and I would be shocked if Gibson is still uncommitted by the 1st game of next year

We dont run a heavy zone read.....a lot of inside zones, dives, traps, counters


Think patriots or Arkansas under petrino.....black or white, fast or slow, if you can throw that's all I want
