'15 GA CB Darius Slayton (UGA commit)

Carvell of the AJC says WR:

UGA now has 25 commitments for 2015, including at least four other prospects who are projected to play wide receiver for the Bulldogs. Wide receiver is arguably the team’s biggest recruiting need after players from the last three recruiting classes have made little or no impact at the position.

Slayton’s commitment makes up for UGA’s loss of Griffin High School wide receiver Christian Owens a few weeks ago.

It could.

OV's comment just confused me. Unless UGA was recruiting Abernathy as a WR as well, did not see how one would affect the other.

I think he meant they were willing to take a package deal (Abernathy at CB, Slayton at WR) if they had to in order to secure Slayton.

Personally, they are idiots if they were not high on Abernathy. Protypical big corner that is all the rage right now.

This is the guy UGA really wanted there weren't to concerned with Abernathy but willing to take Abernathy to get Slayton

Couple friends on uga board saying Pruitt pushed hard for Abernathy. They wanted both in defense backfield. He was a want not just a tske. This was from uga guys. They were disappointed when they did not get him. Just passing along whst I was told. Also seversl said Abernathy was higher up the board.

Excellent. UGA tears are delicious. :cool2:

Also worth noting they uga friends feel he is our answer to our problems covering the slot which has killed our defense in nickel.

UGA staff is telling Slayton, he will be at WR. That could be very interesting with Van Jefferson.

IDk how many AU can take be they already have 21 and are in on alot of top prospects. They could have the #1. Class

Auburn seems to stop at nothing to compete with Bama. And vice versa. Those programs hate each other, but I think they owe a lot of their success to that rivalry.
