'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I assumed you meant Jackson may be on the way out if he takes visits because Phillips could/would take his spot.

No, just that we are sitting fine at DE with or without him and we may even pull Kyle. So I'm not sweating it. Definitely like to keep him on board.

What's the deal with Abernathy? While I am admittedly a "star gazer" at times, I also am confident in CBJ's evaluations. Still, with limited spots, Abernathy is a 3* and #33 CB, which seems like a bit of a stretch. Is there buzz he's just underrated, not reviewed, etc., or is this like CBJ identifying Moseley last year in that CBJ identifies a player and goes and gets him in spite of other evaluations? Don't get me wrong, if CBJ will take his commitment, he must be considerably better than his ranking, but I wanted to know what the buzz is about him just the same.

first off the 247sports composite is the best way when checking a recruit's ranking.. taking in all of the sites for a full composite of a recruit has a lot more weight than just 1 service. so by looking at that abernathy is a 4 star and top #21 cb in the nation. second you check the offer list. his offer list is very impressive. whoever gets abernathy is getting a heck of a prospect.

Seems to be that the only person who knows something we don't know is this Alex character. Tell us more, wise recruiting guru..

VQ saying he may not commit on Friday now and may take some more visits. Keep an eye on this one this week.

Jackson will take visits to both LSU and Bama during the season. From what I am being told CNS is turning up the heat on Dylan

I really don't believe that Dylan will be going anywhere but to UT. I'm sure other coaches are "turning up the heat" but they did on Hurd and it did no good. All Vol.

saw something on twitter earlier that said he was going to take an OV to Oregon

Doesn't sound set in stone but considering its an early OV when he has only been taking UOV means to me it would just be a fun trip to see a cool place everyone talks about and then he plans to shut down recruitment entirely. Otherwise he would take OV later. The word has always been that his parents prefer Tn distance over OSU so I would assume even more so the case with Oregon.

Abernathy sat out his team's scrimmage against Woodward Academy to rest up for the regular season opener this weekend against Benedictine. After the game, Abernathy said he will take an official visit to Oregon on Sept. 6 for the Ducks game vs. Michigan State. Oregon is in the mix with Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State and Penn State.

Crystal Ball picks: Georgia 72%, Tennessee 22%, Ohio State 6%

Top247 cornerback Micah Abernathy
Abernathy, a Top247 prospect, named a top five of Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee last month, but the Vols have received the last two predictions for Abernathy on the Crystal Ball following his latest visit to Tennessee last month. He’s scheduled to take his first official visit to Oregon next weekend. Abernathy is the younger brother of Cincinnati running back Ralph David Abernathy IV, who played for Tennessee coach Butch Jones’ staff at Cincinnati.
