'15 GA DE D'Andre Walker

Phillips is a huge kid with a frame to grow into the tackle position, so to help me make a decision, i'm removing him from consideration (re: DE/LB).

Damn, i still don't know. That's a tough one. Lol.

Lol, I'm the same way. If we have 2 spots out of the 4, I would take Sapp and Deberry. Improved OLB depth and Deberry is a hybrid which would allow for multiple formations.

I'd take DeBerry and Walker to go along with Taylor. The reason I would do this is because I believe Austin Smith is the most underrated prospect we have. He's a stud. DeBerry plays SLB and gets a year to learn the position under Maggit/Weatherd. Bates, Smith, Cortez (sp? sorry on iPhone), and Berry play it out behind JRM. Cherry, Johnson, Bryant, and Bynum battle it out for the MLB spot.

I'd take a 3* OT over any of these. I'm desperate.

Depends for me. If the OT is not considered an upper level SEC talent, you may be better off taking a "best available" at another position than just taking a body at OT. I'd have to think IF the staff can get another OT they like, they will.

I don't think Walker is as high a priority now with Taylor on board and frankly I think Taylor is the better prospect.

Yes yes yes. This. We've got like twice as many DL as OL when OL is singlehandedly losing games.

That said, drop a current DL for Walker, he looks great.

Kyle Phillips is considered an elite OT and DE\DT prospect. He has all kinds of ability and projects to a high level player at several positions. Just depends on how his body keeps filling out.

Was it ever confirmed if he made his visit? I haven't seen or heard any updates, or article quotes. Really hope we land this kid.

Any word out on this kid would be a great pickup.Heard some rumblings in the abernathy thread, figured it needed a good ole bump.

D’Andre Walker
Defensive end
6-2, 218 pounds
Langston Hughes High School, Fairburn, Ga.

Walker has been a frequent visitor to Tennessee’s campus over the past several months, and the Vols remain one of the teams to beat for the Top247 prospect. Georgia and Auburn are still the Vols’ primary competition for Walker, who’s a teammate of four-star linebacker Montavious Atkinson, an Auburn commitment. Walker returned to Tennessee last month for its home game against Florida, and he’s expected to take official visits to all three of his current favorites leading up to National Signing Day. But he doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to decide on a college.
