'15 GA DE D'Andre Walker

Notorious IMO :)

Same mold as Maggitt.

Could you or someone else knowledgeable on the subject explain how we will use Ford, Taylor and Walker differently? Or will they all be a WDE? I have heard Walker would fill Maggitt's OLB/DE role, but Ford and Taylor seem to have a similar build and skillset. What is the difference in the skill-set of these players? Thanks in advance.

If we land Walker, I think Ford will look elsewhere. JMO.

Look at it like this:

Ford is more like Veeren. He's almost always going to play down on the line.

Walker is like Maggit, except that he desires to play WDE full time. UGA, from my understanding, wants him as a OLB.

Taylor is a freak. I think he could play up or down. He's a special breed of raw talent with uncanny size and speed. His techniques need work, but his potential is off the charts no matter his position.

All JMO of course :)

This is really spot on.

We had a discussion a week or so ago on another site Im a member of about how multifaceted this defense is about to become. Lets be honest, our base D this year was a 4-2-5, in which our outside linebacker played with his hand in the ground. We will have the personnel to run a true 4-3, a hybrid 4-3, a 4-2-5 with two speed line backers, a 4-2-5 that features a 5th pass rusher and a drop back lb. We will be able to run a playstation defense.

I think Walker best fits that Maggitt role in which he roams and on third down puts his hand on the ground. I think with his frame his body tops out at 235-245.

With Taylor and Ford I think the could easily pack on more weight. Taylor has the athleticism to move to TE if needed.

Ford is a strong 6'4 225 that in two years will probably play at 250. Think Ben Martin before two achilles injuries, when he closed his senior year with 5 sacks in 4 games. Ben was 220 when he got here and left at 265.

100% agree...all good assessments.

I'm not seeing anything new over there. All I saw was that Thigpen visited him this past week.

Update on VQ of anyone is up lol

I bet it is the same as every update with every recruit

1. Talk to the coaches all the time
2. Great Facilities
3. Here are my top 3
4. Mentions TN 2x in once sentence and everyone thinks VOL
5. Hopes to make a decision soon

Oh. Fort made it sound like there was big updates lol

If it is I can't find it. There's a Thursday morning recruiting update but really doesn't contain any new information. It was a summary of where all the coaches had been this week and who they met with. No player interviews only a little speculation.

Delaying official to UGA this weekend to take ACT. Said he's going unofficially with mom, may take an official in January.

Article on AJC.

Vols lead per UGA247

Spoke to a very good source this morning that told me he was hearing it is Tennessee/Georgia for D'Andre Walker with Tennessee a slight lead coming off the visit last weekend. Georgia will have Walker on campus this weekend AFTER taking his ACT, we have confirmed and will take his official visit in January. Regardless if Walker picks UGA or Tennessee or any other school, I don't see this one as being over until the last few days. It just has that vibe to it. I can see it coming. If Georgia can afford to save that official visit, I think it is smart on their part to do so.

LMAO this is one where I just don't see how we can get in yet another phenomenal DE prospect but yet we lead. I'm going all Leb and trying to figure how we get this guy, Phillips and what we currently already have even if we lose Dylan Jackson. I will say this is the best I've felt about Dline recruiting in a longgggggggggggggggggg time.

Yep! If we keep Hendrix I will feel even better.
But Butcher, Ford, Taylor, Phillips and this guy would be one hell of a DE haul. Plus the DTs we have coming in, this DL will be stacked for years.

GA will sell him as another L Carter or L Floyd... Their closing comment will be we have great talent and always disappoint our fans ever year. Come join us

Personally I think I'd rather line up opposite Barnett and wreak some freaking havoc in the backfield.
