Exactly, I said meaningless camps not games. Throw in meaningless all star games in there as well. What do you have to gain if you're a blue chip recruit? Oh yeah your ranking will go up.

... And experience playing against high d-1 level players before even getting to college, but I'm sure that is useless.

I guess the only camps your guys should attend are Dooley's Proper Shower Technique camps or maybe a tour of the local prison to get familiar with their future college home.

What does he gain going to UGA to begin with? Auburn would likely appreciate getting him first without all the wear and tear put on him running in your indoor facility. Bet that looks like a game of pong. Cross one line, rebound off a wall cross the same line again and hit the other wall.

Football and any sport is about competition, good players love to compete, why do you think we have videos of Lebron dunking on high schoolers? If he is as good as you believe he should be going to camps and dominating.

What do you have to lose except for risking injury? Risk exposing yourself as overrated and lose offers? If you're truly elite then you'll show out and shouldn't have anything to worry about.

If you dominate in HS, know where you want to go play your college ball at and you already have a commitable offer there, a camp is nothing more than a free stuff convention. The rankings will change dramatically as these guys start their senior season so the off season camp based rankings are immaterial.

Camps are cool for some of these kids looking to get some more love on the recruiting trail, pick up some new offers here and there and, of course, get free stuff. But game film is really what rankings should be about. I mean, the camps are fairly similar to the NFL combine and we have all seen a bust or two in those.

Much of the allure to us as fans (and also to the players) of these camps may be recruit rankings...but to the players (whether they realize it or not), their true value is receiving coaching and demonstration from coaches at the next level.

LOL. He's not even the best recruit this cycle. Josh Sweat, Byron Cowert, and Kahlil McKenzie are all better that Trent. Now, if you wanna talk about UGA, then maybe you should go to your own board. This, if you haven't noticed, is a Tennessee Vols board.

First thinking like this has to be a direct result of all that inbreeding down GA way, when Clowney came out of HS everyone acknowledged he was a man child and was a Freak of nature....

Second no matter how good the kid is Richt and his crew will lead him to the greatest levels of under achieving possible......

Third he will be kicked off the team for some felony charge by his sophomore season anyway.....
