On Quarte Sapp, here is what we know. Some very, very close to Sapp would like to see him do something in the next week and possibly as early as today. But, no one is really sure what Sapp is thinking.
Sapp doesn't talk very much and he doesn't give things away very easily so that is something we will be watching and hopefully trying to get in touch with him to see if anything happens.
Lol, nice.
I know SAM is on the tight end (no pun intended), and Will is on the opposite side. Is OLB and ILB just another name for Sam and will?
Generally, assuming a 4-3 base:
Sam = strong side (the side the tight end/full back/H back is set up; should generally be your bigger, tougher OLB who can shed blocks and play the run or pass).
Will = weak side (the opposite side of strong; your quicker OLB who can cover, rush the passer, etc.)
MLB plays the middle, calls the D, lines everyone up, shoots the run gaps, plays sideline to sideline, sometimes will have responsibility for a QB, RB, TE or Slot WE on a drag.
That's real basic, but a start.
Yup. They pretty much covered all bases. So ILB and mlb is the same thing, and the 2 OLB will be the Sam and will. Thanks to you and chavis for the LB 101
BOT, what you hearing on Richmond?
