"Thigpen was with Quarte Sapp Tuesday night as Sapp has a scheduled an announcement for 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. After coming close several previous times to pulling the trigger, we believe Tennessee is the clear front-runner heading into his announcement."

Sapp is more important to the long term success of this team than Bruce? Let me guess because he is a 4* and Bruce is a 3*?? Gimme a break.
I remember reading something like that a while back. DeerPark over in the FF is saying he is 100 percent sure Paulk will not be back. Bob "check my stats" Mueller says he will. Interesting to see what happens,
Drop Bruce. I know, I know, he is a local kid and grew up dreaming about being a Vol. Sapp is more important to th long term success of this team than Bruce. Drop Bruce take Sapp and keep Oliver. Bruce can wear a blue or grey shirt if he can pass NCAA muster. Get the best players in if you want to win.
Would be ok with this as long as we can suppliment an OT like Richmond or Allen
I'd like both. You make the room for guys like that IMO.
With that said it's crazy how all over the board the mods on TOS are. 247 says they are still going after Allen and VQ basically says he's lost his chance.
And they talk about fans being all over the place when it gets closer to signing day....![]()
That doesn't make sense to me. I mean I could see them maybe passing on Allen if Richmond was committed but we're definitely pursuing Richmond so we have a spot for another OT. Allen to me is a safer bet to sign NSD if you can get his commitment.
Since last night Callahan over on 247 seems kind of unsure about Sapp being a Vol. He has been saying he keeps hearing a lot of Michigan State chatter with him.
Maybe it's just fatigue with this kid at this point for me, but I just couldn't care less about Sapp. If he commits, meh. If he goes elsewhere, meh. I really just want either Allen or Richmond and to hold onto Bussey and I'm good. Sapp?...... Whatever.
No Bruce is either a rb, slot reciever, or db. We are pretty solid at all those positions. Sapp is a olb with some good offers from some really good programs. Bruce although a solid player isn't on the level of a player like Sapp. Now I hope Bruce proves me wrong and becomes a great player for our vols but I like he will be a good special teams player someone great in the locker room and someone to add some depth at whatever position he ends up playing. Either way I'm glad he is a vol especially since he has always wanted to be one but he is not on the same radar as a player like Sapp.
I do not have the info to debate which player is the best college prospect... however the bolded portion is not true. The RB position returns one player with any experience and Kamara that most consider a sure bet. Behind them... there's no one who can be counted on to play at this point. If Wharton leaves then the slot position is suddenly thin. If Jenkins goes too it becomes very thin. There is decent talent at S but UT needs more CB's which is where I believe he would project.
