'15 GA RB Taj Griffin

Idk man.....I had guys at my HS who were getting a legit 30" vert and we weren't exactly a bunch of stellar athletes. I mean how many times when u were in school were kids jumping and touching the nets or rim on a bball goal just to see if they could. Most of the time thats at least 24". Now think about a top tier athlete doing it. Not saying its exactly 46" cuz I understand ur point about them being inflated but it might still be around 36"-38"

Yeah, im not saying he doesnt have a great vertical, but every kid at those event puts up big numbers. The Nike events use that mat that they jump on. They dont use the stick slap thing that most other places use. When you look at the top recorded verticals, its crazy to see that theres 30+ kids at each event that could make that list.

I was just saying its possible that a few can even without the inflated numbers. Idk if Taj can or not. I was just saying he might be able to.

If you pull your legs up, that raises the vert on the map. It's based off of how long you're in the air. These kids are probably doing that.

Edoga and Rahming have been in Griffin’s ear, he said, about going to Tennessee.
“I mean, of course they are,” Griffin said, smiling. “They want me to go there with them. But just, basically, I’m going to pick wherever’s best for me at the end of the day and just go off that.”

Boom?

What's better than playing football at Tennessee?

Hopefully UT gets several RBS! Remember all the kids that came here as backs in the past...

Eric Westmoreland
Dominqe Stevenson
Al Wilson

Pretty good Rbs that made great LBS! That being said I hope we sign as many as possible. But I think Taj would be a great chance of pace guy in the future with Hurd! He in MO is a RB for sure!!!

I think Big Al Wilson was recruited as a safety.

I think Big Al Wilson was recruited as a safety.

He was a safety/rb in high school but was recruited as a LB all the way. Chavis told him he would play in the middle and be allowed to roam the field and be in the NFL. Of course coaches tell most every kid that but in Al's case his career went just like Chavis told him in HS.

That era is over with. We need actual RBs on this roster. We aren't deep there at all. We've got what we hope are 3 RBs in this last class(I like all 3 personally). And I hope we add at least 2 more this one wouldn't mind 3 if the numbers weren't tight.

Mike Farrell video interview on rivals...Griffin was last visiting Oregon, he really enjoyed everything about the visit, they are high on his list. Before that was a visit to UT, he really enjoyed that as well, talked to Butch, they showed how they would use him, saw the bball game, etc. Plans to visit USCw, OSU and FSU next. Said those schools have been trying hard to get him to visit, especially FSU. He said Oregon was an offer that really stood out, his eyes lit up.

He said his mother works for Delta so he can use her miles for all these visits and it definitely seems like he wants to go to Oregon so I'm sure her free tix could factor into them being able to visit him out west as well. Griffin is Oregon bound, IMO.

Can't blame him, he'll be a stud in that offense

"It was great. It was a great atmosphere, everything was really nice," Griffin said of Tennessee. "They have a great staff. I like talking to coach Jones and speaking to the running backs coach. Everything went pretty well."

"He's a real cool coach. Me and him have a really good relationship and he comes by the school and I speak to him a lot. So, it's a good relationship," Griffin said. "He's always trying to get me up there for a visit so I had to go up there and it was great experience."

"It was really cool. Everything was really nice. Great facilities, everything was top of the line and everything was what it was hyped up to be," Griffin explained. "That was really good just so I could get a feel for how they do things out there and see if I want to get back out there for an official and I'm definitely going to take an official there so it was a big help for that."

"Tennessee is definitely still in the race," Griffin said. "I'm still taking it step-by-step and I still have a lot of schools I need to visit. I'll be able to put them in places once I'm able to visit all the schools that I'm interested in."
