'15 JUCO CB Justin Martin (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Btw, if we want to sell Martin over LSU, we need to get him in a room with Sutton. With pro potential being his number one, LSU has the advantage in Chavis, DBU, and the obvious pipeline of DBs that are coming out every year. Tennessee needs to sell future success. Sell Martin on one fact: come to UT, you not only are most likely guaranteed a starting spot, but you will be opposite one of the premier corners in the SEC for the duration of his time here. Teams will have to pick their poison between him and Sutton, and that means more opportunities to show his ability to scouts, especially behind a D-line as talented as ours with Barnett and Curt on the outsides teamed with K-Mac, Tuttle, Obrien, and Owen Williams on the inside. Maybe LSU has the better history, but we have the better future, and that is what really matters here.

Believe what you want, but it was proven on multiple occasions in the 2014 class. When some of the recruits made their commitment public, it was released in articles that they had been silently committed to the coaches for a while. Some kids just want to wait to make a public announcement on a special day or at a special time...birthday, All-Star games, etc.

This!.....I don't know why this is so hard for some people. Many recruits over the years have said they were silently committed before they announced. It's a fact.

We are battling LSU in a possible four recruit swing. If they want to come, room will not be an issue, there's too much talent here, more so than some of our other commits. Damn, it feels good to be back on top. This is going to be the storyline for the next month. Time to see our coaches really earn those raises.
Three technically. Ship already sailed on Jackson.

LSU had the better recent history. I wouldn't concede them having the better history overall. ;-)

That's all well and good except that LSU doesn't have a better history than Tennessee.

Well considering the guy that built our DB history is AT LSU, and the fact that they have had at least one CB drafted every year since Patrick Peterson in what, 2007? In recruit's eyes, LSU has the better history. Because that is the only history they care about. Just being honest.

We should have locked this guy up a while ago. Him and Tyree St Louis are the two most important recruits on our board. You could say Amadi and Phillips are up there too I guess. This guy is going to be special though and it would suck losing him to another SEC school especially after us placing him in JUCO.

Aggies are going to offer Chavis the highest coordinator salary in country. By a long shot.

He's got something to think about.

Being honest doesn't necessarily make your opinion correct. Just sayin...we have better history.

Are it referring to our history vs their history with DB's or program history? One is correct, one isn't.

Chavis built our DB history?

Chavis has proven he's loyal...he gets paid very well for a DC. I don't see him leaving for A&M.

Either way, I'm betting Chavis will get some more money before all is said and done.

Not sure there is much more room for money to be honest, he is tied for 3rd highest assistant in the country. He has done a good job at LSU, but not sure I think any of them need a huge pay increase. Chavis does have a buyout for 2015, of $400,000.

TAM bring the checkbook. I don't think its going to help TAM much, Chavis already knows how to stop that offense.
