You ain't lying. I just watched is highlights and surprised he wasn't talked about more. I understand bad grades but I don't recall him being mentioned much at all when talking about state talent. Heck of an athlete
Sounds like there's a good chance Martin is going to make it back to Knoxville this summer for a UV before heading back to OK for school. Would love to lock him down then.
This one is all but over, IMO. I think it is why the recruiting information on CBs is very quiet. He is a silent, and the staff must feel very good about who is #1 on their board for the other spot.
So do they like Ordway or Abernathy more? I would guess Ordway since he is instate, but I will be curious to see what the coaches do.
That's how all these recruiting sites work. If your grades are so bad that you have no shot to sniff college straight after HS, they won't bother evaluating you or writing about you.
It was a similar thing with Cordarrelle Patterson until he got his grades straightened out at JUCO then all of a sudden he was blowing up as a 5*.
Bo Scarborough proved this theory to be a lie. These sites are hilarious with how they pick and choose who they want to rate right or wrong. Gavin Bryant got evaluated and ranked low for grades. Bo stayed high in the rankings even though his grades were worse than Bryant. Joke if I've ever seen one.

I don't think two years is mandatory, that's what it takes to get the degree. Some kids might need the full 2 years to improve their grades if they were pretty bad. He just graduated high school with 5 to play 4, so he will play one year at JUCO before enrolling at UT with 4 to play 3. That's how I understand it anyway.
Justin didn't graduate from high school. He completed his GED and enrolled in junior college January of this year. He had gotten off to a very poor start academically in high school and he and his family came to the conclusion that this was the best way to minimize delay in pursuit of opportunities to play major college football, as opposed to graduating from high school this May and attending JUCO beginning this fall. As of now, he has already completed one semester of college freshman-level work and plans on graduating with his associates degree in the spring of 2015. If I understand correctly, this would allow him to enroll at UT in the summer of next year with four years of eligibility left. Justin Martin draws Tennessee Vols
A junior college prospect who played his senior season at Nashville's Overton High School after transferring from Georgia, Martin left Overton early to enroll at Northeast Oklahoma Community College. Now, Martin has the chance to get out of NEO in December and be an early enrolle and have three years of eligibility left.
Tennessee helped set Martin up at NEO and the Vols have to be considered the early team to beat as they've had a strong relationship with Martin since last summer. Ole Miss is trying to be a factor and they may be before it's over, but right now, it's hard to see Martin not ending up a Vol.
