I would not have minded having Cross in Orange the last couple years. Not much of a dancer and something I think we could have used in the backfield. As a backup at NE he has had about 140 carries for about 800 yards. Not bad at all IMO.

It takes an exceptional leader to finish top ten in recruiting 2 years in a row after 4 straight losing seasons. This "thing of ours" we have going is truly near miraculous, and is a reflection of Coach jones character. The recruits are obviously seeing it. The rest of the country will soon. For sure. That was not intended to be a knock on Cross, just trying to give a little perspective on how our situation has indeed changed tremendously.

Neal/Cross/Lane would've been solid last year. But the potential, abilities, and overall talent of that group compared to having Hurd/Kamara/Scott/Paulk next year is just a huge step up. Thing is, none of those 4 have a single SEC carry to this point. So we'll just have to wait and see.
