“it was cool just to get back up there (to tennessee),” he said. “actually, i went up there at thanksgiving. But i came back up there for a longer period of time (last weekend), just chilling around coach gillespie and coach jones more, and just some teammates and stuff. It was really fun.
“coach jones really has the program going in the right direction, i think. Their staff is really genuine guys, and they seem to like working for coach jones, and that’s always good.
“going into alabama, i didn’t really have a regular relationship or get to know (crimson tide running backs) coach (burton) burns as much as i have coach gillespie. And that’s really helped me a lot, just to have such a great relationship with coach gillespie and be able to talk to him a lot.”
kamara, who will have three years to play his final three seasons at tennessee, said he approached the recruiting process and his lone season at hutchinson with “more maturity this time around.”

coming from alabama, kind of a rocky year — redshirting, hurting my knee, things not going as planned — i really wanted to just kind of stay focused,” kamara said. “i wasn’t really in the media. I just did what i had to do on the field and got my grades right.
“it went well. I feel like i got better this year, and i feel like i did what i needed to do to be able to move forward and go ahead and get up to tennessee.”
he said he “definitely” expects to play a significant role in the vols’ offense once he arrives on campus.
“i feel like jalen is probably one of the only guys that’s on scholarship, so i’m definitely going in and playing a big role, as long as i do what i’ve got to do,” kamara said. “just watching jalen play, i think we can complement each other pretty well. I think it’ll go pretty well, and we’ll see how it goes in the spring.”

Really interested to see what the percentage of the carries he & Hurd get.

50-50..60-40..Hurd..60-40 Kamara?

Either way it's a lethal combo. Get back to our ways dominating the ground game & we'll be set for a while.

Hoping to see a quintuple-option with Kamara onboard.

Dobbs in the shotgun, Kamara and Hurd to his right and left and Pearson in motion.

Dobbs can throw it, keep it, flip it to Pearson, or hand it off to either RB.

Can't stop that.
