"Bussey's recruitment has been interesting as he originally committed to Nebraska in November of this year, but as his senior year went on the 5-foot-8, 198-pound running back gained a lot of notoriety for his strong season and Tennessee threw their hat in the ring for his services in late October.
As it turns out, the Vols had been a favorite of his since he was a youth and he visited Knoxville during a track meet.
After exploring several options Bussey seemed to shut down his recruitment in late November opting to stick with Nebraska but after Bo Pelini was fired Bussey decided to take a second look at Tennessee as well as Texas A&M.
Although Tennessee has been his favorite school growing up the reason Texas A&M is very much in this race as former Vol assistant coach Terry Joseph is recruiting him. Joseph and the Bussey family have been close for years and that's certainly a factor heading into the decision.
It's been hard to get a feel for this one this week as there seems to be some confidence from the Texas A&M side of things, but Bussey's announcement we believe is certainly worth watching Friday from Tennessee's standpoint.
Bussey's decision will be streamed on NOLA.com at 5:30 eastern."

No ... I said I don't care what you say to me if he isn't a Vol. Hubbs and P.Fort are the ones who said to watch Busseys announcement close this wknd because UT is a big factor and de1conley said Bussey is top of the Coach's RB board and Reid won't be a Vol. I said earlier I thought Bussey was A'M bound till I saw that. Don't be so sensitive sweetie it will be ok I promise.
Bussey wants to be a vol but the dad is pushing A&m hard. Thought someone said Fort was backing off his earlier comments and usually that means good news for the vols.
So many weird connections.
1. Vols are Bussey's favorite team growing up.
2. Bussey's are long-time friends of Terry Joseph, who coached at TN with Dooley, likely strengthening his desire to go there, during that time frame.
3. Terry Joseph leaves Tennessee to go to Nebraska.
4. Terry Joseph leaves Nebraska to go to A&M, I presume before...
5. Bussey commits and eventually decommits from Nebraska.
6. Now, Terry Joseph is recruiting him to A&M.
-Rivals."The 5-foot-9 1/2 Kendall Bussey weighs 206 pounds, up from 190 last year at this time. He has set numerous school records in the weight room with a 365-pound bench press and a 515-pound squat. He completes the total package with a 26 ACT and 3.5 GPA. He is explosive enough to dunk a basketball with two hands."
