'15 LA RB Kendall Bussey (Former UT commit)

A 3rd string RB? Sure. Its just my opinion that in UTs current situation, the 3rd,4th,5th string guys are going to have to be very very patient. We'll see if these guys coming in are the patient type. I suppose Scott wasn't.

You mean just like they will have to be at every big time school?.... Oh I forgot, they can go to NCstate and the Rutgers and start right away!!

Not scared at all. Just paying attention to how over signing always leads to excessive attrition. IMO, it's just a waste.

Not recruiting and signing potentially outstanding talent, because you're afraid they or other talent may transfer?... Is recruiting scared. Scared of attrition is scared of attrition.

Lol...we have one RB with SEC experience. ONE. IMO, with UT's current situation, the #3-4 guys are gonna get the ball. It's simply silly to think otherwise if you know football. You have to have 4-5 RBs.

Or... Oh noes!! They might have to redshirt and wait a few years like they will at every other SEC school. You know the way it's supposed to be, lol.

I'm waiting in Leb to show us a top SEC school that has chance at offering him a better situation on the RB roster. I guess Bussey will have to go to NCstate!

Not only is his argument ridiculous, but the total opposite is true. He is more likely to see the field sooner here than anywhere.

Kamara is a perfect example. Do you think Saban regrets or thinks he wasted his time getting Alvin to sign with Bama? Hell No! He has got a stable full of stud backs, and he is probably happy that he was able to keep Kamara off of either UTs or UGAs roster for two years.

So simple ain't it

Exactly. Also, not wanting to cut a commit loose in order to gain a more talented prospect, which Leb vehemently opposes, is recruiting scared.

No, that's more an integrity thing. If I'm preaching "family", I would make it a priority to recruit that way. I'd have gladly taken Kamara and Bussey. IMO Kelly's spot would be better used elsewhere.

I am not concerned about this commitment one bit. We already have 2 solid RB prospects committed for this class WITHOUT even mentioning J. Bruce and V. Perry. The position seems a bit crowded as it is. Regardless of who we sign, attrition will happen. It always does. T. Paulk will make this situation interesting. My hunch? Bussey will be an Aggie. But guess what?? Go Vols Baby!

Show me a college coaching staff that isn't trying to create a family atmosphere and selling to recruits that they won't have their back. LOL...

Don't even try cuz it doesn't exist. Every staff in America preaches 'family' to recruits and their families.

I'm sure almost every staff does. IMO some just actually practice it more than others. I'm pleased with how UT has handled most things recently. A few wth moments, but not bad.

Jabo didn't make it in. Hurd, Paulk, and Scott. Hurd is the only one left.

We'll take 3 this year then just 1 next. Then as they hit the door early, you're back to needing 3 again instead of that 1. Imo, this will be more the norm than not. I think it ends up being an issue long term. We'll see.

It's pretty disingenuous to try and use Paulk to make your point though. He was thrown off the team for getting into trouble. It's not like he left because he was unhappy with playing time or was recruited over.

If anything, Paulk is an example of why you should take 3 RBs per class.

If everyone would quit responding to LV he would quit spouting his numbers nonsense. He just gets on the forum to start arguments.

I suppose I could post and respond to my own post in that post if it comes to that.

I hope Bussey does not flip to A&M.

Me either, I like Bussey more than Kelly at RB.

Crowded? Seriously? I hope you're being facetious...

I will say that a lot of the way you want people to recruit is how Dooley recruited. Remember the Vol For Life movement started under his administration. Yet behind the scenes, players and former players said he was a lying, manipulative ass. His teams did not seem 'family-like' at all.

Now Butch is recruited the way he is, which you seem to disapprove of some of his methods. And yet the team actually does seem much more like a family, and team moral, effort and intensity on the field, school work, off the field incidents have all improved under CBJs watch. Dramatically improved if you ask me.

I think it looks crowded. Hurd and Kamara will see 80-90 percent of the carries this year. RDAIV, Bussey, Kelly, plus possibly Bruce, Perry. That's a lot of bodies to share 30-40 carries. Jmo

RDAIV is gonna play slot. Bruce and Perry will redshirt or see time on special teams only IMO. That leaves Hurd, Kamara, Bussey, and Kelly...4 RBs. Where's the crowd?

I'm sure some feel that family atmosphere is there. I'm sure some do not.
