'15 LA WR Jalen McCleskey

Another very good option if Woods can not get his issues in order.

My exact thoughts, LV, but I would prefer this kid over Woods honestly. And I mean no disrespect by that. Every bit as good if not better, plus he is a legacy. Since he is only 16, I wonder if the coaches try to get him to do what Dews is doing… Take a gray shirt and go to prep school to mature physically a little bit more. He will only be 17 as a true FR in college.

With everything going on with Woods right now and the possible grade question, you would take JJ over him right now.

This almost sounds like a question. But yes I would. He's a legacy, and simply has more of an upside. I'm not a coach though. If they decide to stick it out with Woods, that'd be fine, but I think McClesky could be a heck of a player.

I loved watching JJ play here, he was my favorite player and probably the first name I recognized and followed as a vol fan at 8 years old. Good early memories of me and the pops going to see JJ play. I'd love it if we get his son in Orange too. Go VOLS

Was bumped to 5.6 on Rivals. I could see him earning a fourth star with a good summer of camps and a good senior year. I would love to have him in this class.

Totally agree drop woods add McCleskey. I'm sure he plays better talent week in and week out being from LA. Plus I like his versatility could play slot, outside, or even move him cb.

There are several WR on our board that are head and shoulders above McCleskey or Woods. Drop Woods and slow play McCleskey until the other 4-5 WR commit elsewhere.

V Jefferson and C Kirk are real options for us right now. Let's pump the brakes on lower level WR recruiting for now.

Covington (La.) St. Paul’s receiver Jalen McCleskey will camp at LSU on June 9 and it will be the first of several camps the three-star wide out attends over the next three weeks. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder will follow LSU up with Southern Miss (June 10), Oklahoma State (June 14), Florida (June 18) and Tennessee (June 21), along with a trip to South Florida in July. South Florida, Southern Miss and Air Force have offered McCleskey and his 247Sports Crystal Ball currently is split with one pick each for Tennessee, Tulane and LSU.

Would we take his commitment?

Seems unlikely IMO. I mean we are good at WR, especially after Bruce committed. I could be wrong but I would think if we are taking another WR it would be Jefferson or someone a little better. I am no expert though so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

Hyams reported Jalen McCleskey is still weighing his options (per JJ), and since he is only sixteen, is open to grey shirt. Also relayed some impressive stats for him, but I was listening at work, so I can't quote them.

This was posted today. If he is open to grayshirt, he might be a take. Not sure though

Reported a 4.39 forty and over a 40 inch vertical. Seems to have an incredible work ethic. Also WANTS to be a Vol. hope he accepts a grey shirt
