So...

With this new info...

Who do we finish with?
IMO we finish with Tuttle, Dalton, Sweet, Abernathy, Martin, 1 of Frazier or Love, Sapp, and another O Lineman.
Now, time for a more informed poster to correct me.

Abernathy will be a hard pull. Sapp is very good, but I'm not sure he even cares to come here and will probably wait it out to see what other offers he can obtain. Martin, Shy, and Frazier/Love/Vaughn seams to be the direction right now. Kyle Phillips and Ugo Amadi will be a combo to watch as well, plus those guys are instate and CBJ will make them a priority IMO. Dalton and Sweet seams like a pipe dream to me unless Shy pulls them here for us. Van Jefferson, Jeryl Brazil, Ryan Newsome, Rico McGraw, Pat Allen, Tim Settle, and Ricky DeBerry are others to keep an eye on as well. Just my :twocents:

If we sign Dalton he would take Ford's spot.

Corey Vereen is a player that doesnt get talked about much. Kid is going to be very good for us. He already is IMO.

Vereen has been in the backfield on a really high percentage of pass plays so far this season, and is only going to improve.

The dude is GOOD!!

At one point, UNC was confident they were getting Dalton and Tuttle because they were a "package deal."

So it's clear they want to play together, just how much remains to be seen because if it happens anywhere it looks like it will be UT.

I think probably 10% of package deals actually end up signing together

It always be like, "We're a package deal."

NSD

(John signed with Washington State)
(Pete signed with Hofstra)

I think a typical "package deal" is one when a highly recruited player tries to get his best friend better offers by saying we are going to play together. This one is different because Tuttle and Dalton are good enough on their own to warrant offers from every program in the country. I, however, agree that Tuttle and Dalton to UT isn't very likely. I think Tuttle is a Vol, but I don't think Dalton will be even though I think he is going somewhere other than UNC because of the shambles the program is in now. It would be great of he considers UT but I'm not counting on it.

Ford will remain a Vol. Calebseal is right. As for Dalton I think we have a shot. UNC is in shambles defensively and the entire state is in meltdown after ECU ladt night I was at the game and those smurf dressed pricks were talking so much smack. then low and behold they had morphed into aluminum bleachers midway through the third quarter. Expect defensive firings soon and staff shakeup. Dalton may be indeed looking at TN with Tuttle because va tech is in similar turmoil thanks to ECU and the meltdown to ga tech in the closing minutes yesterday. We need to send Ruffin McNeill some cash.

Yeah Ruffin is a good ole guy for helping us out here. He ought to get use of a plane and a trip anywhere he wants to go if we get Dalton and Shy. Our D is going to be really good very soon.

Ruffin is a hell of a guy period. Really humble and cares about his players. And, obviously, can coach football at a high level.
