'15 NC RB Bryce Love

What if it's called to beat UF this year- the team that got so many people with that play? Can you imagine Coach Jones calling a jump pass to secure a first down to run out the rest of the clock to win the game? I'd be damn excited to see that.

If it's the one where the tailback takes the handoff and right before he nears the line of scrimmage, jumps and hits a receiver in the flat, I think he's saving that for a relevant game...so hopefully we see it THIS year.

How many positions did McFadden play? Dickerson? Walker? Derrick Henry? Hurd is a RB and that is all he will play. This is college not HS football.

Hurd has excellent hands and is probably faster than all of those backs. This is a different league now too. You just wait. He's a weapon.

I don't think Hurd will ever be listed at another position, but I would guess that Butch will slide him out to receiver from time to time when defensive personnel are set to stop the run, just to see if a linebacker can cover him on a post route. When he was recruited, it was clear that he was athletic enough to play safety or receiver as well, but we are building a lot of talent at those positions now, so the chances of a change are even less.

That's all I'm saying. He'll line yo everywhere but will definitely always be listed on these program as a Rb and will get the majority of snaps there. We have a lot of talent all of a sudden next year at RB so Hurd will get used everywhere.

Yep. Pretty sure Butch has a jump pass stashed in the ole playbook as well, which I'm sure people wouldn't be too excited to see.

I'm sure he has a jump pass in there. Our offense is trick play loaded. We just couldn't run it last year as much because of the lack of system experience among the players.

I bet we do too. He's done something similar while at Cincy I believe.

Hurd is faster than Darren McFadden, Eric Dickerson, and Hershel Walker? Is that what you are saying?

No offense but you do realize I was referring to Hershcel Walker right?

No I read right through that. No to Herschel. He may after a few years of training and strength be as fast DMC. He's every bit as fast on there football field as those guys that's all. I think he lacks the broadness in his upper body of every guy you mention though which means he may not be as powerful.

Geez people, can you not see my point? Hurd is versatile. I just think he can ALSO play out wide or tight end or direct snaps when not in the backfield. Hurd is a running back that can do other things. Think outside the box.

Read it again if you need to. Hurd. He gone.

Seriously, no about Herschel though. Read right through that.

Hurd is NOT as fast as any of those guys.

Darren McFadden ran electronic 4.33 (4.27 hand-time) at the 2008 NFL Combine.

*Darren McFadden | Arkansas, RB : 2008 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

Eric Dickerson was the Texas 2A 100 "yard dash" (9.8 time) state champ and the 200 "meter" state champ (21.50) at Sealy High School in 1978.

UIL 1977-1978 Track & Field State Champions

Herschel Walker was an elite sprinter in college and "briefly" held the World Record in the 60 yard dash before it was broken in the next heat by Carl Lewis.

I don't know if you've Hurd, but none of those aforementioned people went to Tennessee and thus everything you just stated are lies and slander.

I know that I may get blasted by this but I think it may not be a Reid vs. Love position. I think that we are looking for another RB for insurance purposes.

1) Paulk is unable to come back full strength
2) RB academic casualties - I would like to hear what Karmara's progress is at JC and if he will be able to make it in next January. The reason for concern here is that Bama said several times that he was in the doghouse for not going to class. Just want to know how he can make all of that up and still get in early.
3) If it is Love vs. Reid and only one of them were able to EE then we would take the EE and tell the other to look around.
4) The staff does seriously consider moving Jalen Hurd to another position.

All of this is just speculation but real concerns.

#4 is not a real concern.

I wonder how UNC picking up 4* Ty'Son Williams today affects Love's interests/decision.

I am guessing with the type of talent that UNC pulls at that position, if he is seriously considering them, then he will not be scared off by anything that they pull.

"A couple schools are standing out right now," [Bryce Love] said. "I would say Florida, North Carolina State, East Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. I'm still taking things pretty slow, figuring out a decision date and my official visits. Things like that." ~ B. Love

Looks like he may be leaving UNC out of his top choices... but not Tennessee
