'15 NC RB Johnny Frasier

JSC what is fraiser size now. hearing hes closer to 6'0, 220

He reported for fall practice at Princeton 15 pounds over his playing weight; he didn't get to work out the way he normally would have because of all the recruiting distractions, and he put on weight during the summer. In Princeton's first game, against East Carteret, they actually had to shuttle him in and out because he wasn't in form. He played well but wasn't the real Johnny Frasier. The first couple of games, he didn't have the sprinter's speed that you normally see from him; he was fast, but not "oh my God, did you see that?" fast. Of course, it didn't matter against those teams. East Carteret was the only team that gave Princeton any kind of a game. Johnny sat out the entire second half in three of their first five games, and probably won't play another second half until the playoffs.

He's played himself back into top shape now. The listed 6'0", 205 is probably about right, although he may still be a few pounds above that weight. He's grown a few inches and is noticeably stronger than he was in 2013. Ask those James Kenan defenders he ran over or dragged with him on Friday night. They were selling out to stop him and he still got 213 yards.

Were you at the game Friday night?

Yes and I was sick for him and Princeton. They will get them in the playoffs. Do we have a legit shot?i know he was at the fsu game saturday

Something that can be asked on the board, or something you'd rather not have here? If it's the latter, email me at jsc1973 at (NO.SPAM.) gmail dot com.

Johnny's coach confirmed for me that Johnny will be on an official visit to UT come Saturday when they play the Gators. Probably not news at this point, but in case someone hasn't heard, or didn't know it was official.

Johnny and the Dawgs are off this week, so there won't be any update on Friday night. Incidentally, in two games against the best 1-A program in the state the last two seasons, he has 501 yards on 45 carries. James Kenan pulled them both out, but they'll be glad to see Johnny Frasier get his diploma. Especially if they see him again in November.

There's some possibility that Princeton may end up in the "small" 1-A bracket and not have to play JK in the playoffs to get to the state championship game. If that happens, Johnny will be playing almost to the Christmas break.

wow would love to see them small 1A. is johnny excited about his visit? coaches and family coming?

One of the Princeton assistants is going with him. He's excited about the visit. I actually spoke to him this afternoon when I went by the fieldhouse to interview the head coach for an unrelated story.

Princeton was right above the split for the big/small 1-A last year, and broke on the wrong side of it. Princeton's enrollment is actually more than 200 fewer than JK, and if they realigned now, JK would go back up to 2-A for the first time in a decade. But that happens. When Goldsboro was in the conference, they were almost 3-A size for three years and got to compete in 1-A.

I agree with taking three running backs. Paulk leaving only amplifies the need. And of course if we are to have a third, Johnny Frasier is my first, second and third choice.

I was at Goldsboro then. They didn't open the engineering school until after the conferences had been aligned. We should have won state, but coaching was poor.

i saw nwood play goldsboro in hoops in 2a playoffs about six years or so ago. nw won controversially as a goldboro 3 at buzzer was waived off. got a little wild including in the parking lot. good side was i got to eat at wilburs
