'15 NC RB Johnny Frasier

From two different ESPN articles..

Player likely to flip: No. 86 and Florida State commit Johnny Frasier. Not only has Frasier made an official visit to Tennessee thus far, but he also has been on the campus of NC State and continues to look at Duke. While that alone doesn’t make him the pick to flip, the fact that No. 46 Jacques Patrick is expected to announce for the Seminoles on Monday over Alabama adds another talented running back to the 2015 class with a number of talented backs already in Tallahassee.

No. 85 Johnny Frasier: Frasier remains committed to Florida State, but is definitely flirting with others. The explosive running back has visited Tennessee, Duke and NC State recently. While the initial thought has Frasier sticking with the Seminoles, should ESPN 300 No. 42 Jacques Patrick commit to Florida State as many expect on Oct. 27, that could certainly muddy the waters and give the Volunteers and Blue Devils more ammo in the efforts to lure Frasier from FSU.

Why is there such a huge discrepancy bw Rivals and 24/7 for this guy?

Rivals has him at the 20th best RB and 24/7 has him at #1

I am aware of the composite ranking, and I am also curious as to why 247 rates him so much higher than Rivals

Different regional evaluators. Rivals and 247 have the best evaluators IMO. Rivals does annoy me with some of their rating players when they haven't even evaluated them yet though but their ratings end up being pretty solid towards the end of the cycle. Scout has some decent guys but overall I don't feel their ratings are as good as the other two sites. ESPN is a freaking joke; I honestly wish 247 didn't even include them in their composite.

Still looking at a offer list of a recruit and the interest level of major schools might be the best evaluation of how good a prospect is likely to be.

I would say the level of competition has a lot to do with it.He plays against one real good team during the season in James Kenan.Like I said the shrine bowl will show how good he is.If I remember correctly Gurley had a good showing during the week of the shrine bowl and got rated better in the rankings.

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to Rivals anymore. It just seems to me that they tend to be further off than what the other services agree on 9 times out of 10. I like 247 the most.

Rivals is still GOAT. 247 getting better, ESPN 3rd place, and Scout, no thanks .

Because some of these "scouting services" don't believe any high school player can possibly be any good if he plays for a small school. If they haven't actually seen the kids play, they'll automatically downgrade the kid who doesn't play for the larger school.

I'm no talent scout, but I've been covering North Carolina high school football for 21 years, and I've seen several kids that ended up in the NFL. I'll trust what my eyes are telling me: Johnny's better than any of them.

You are dead on. im the same over here and thats why i said he was a 5 star a year ago andvwss hammered. forget the small school crap the kid can play. agaoin james kenan last year could have played with most teams on the state. fraiser against them was special - twice.

JSC do we have any shot?

Fort tweeted that the Patrick decision would have an effect on Tennessee recruiting even though Tennessee was not in his top 5.

Johnny is the effect like ESPN already mentioned.

Rivals has Bryce love top 100 and 247 has him a high 3*.

Whoever is doing their NC RB rankings on those two sites think VERY different. LOL.

BREAKING NEWS:

Fortenberry says with Patrick expected to pick FSU, Frasier is more open to looking around which puts Tennessee back in the mix.

Should be more on this tomorrow after the war room comes out.

Interesting.

If a UT commitment decides to "look around" because of other guys committing at his position he is viewed as afraid of competition. Wonder how this will go?

Also isn't this the RB that had NC State and Duke ahead of UT, or am I thinking of someone else?

:p
