I agree. My presumption: There are people doing it wrong. We're human beings; we can't help ourselves.

Social media is a powerful tool. My own company struggles with the repercussions of Twitter and Facebook posts by our employees. We hold yearly classes on social media etiquette. We've also purposely avoided corporate social media accounts because of the potential for negative feedback. As my marketing professor in MBA school told me about the 'court of public opinion': 20 positive comments + 1 negative comment = 1 negative comment.

Sorry to derail Reid's thread. I'll consider this issue closed. :hi:

I think from "employees" social media can be very damaging to a company or brand. If someone on Tennessee's staff was tweeting out negative statements about Reid, then that would be a problem.

I guess I have more faith in the decision making abilities of these young men and their families than you do. Plus, I'd argue that if a player can't handle some negative critiquing by fans, then he isn't going to make it through the college football experience.

I should add that I'm not sure what's been said about Reid, other than some who would prefer other prospects. I think the kid is a good looking back who put up some great numbers this year and I hope he ends up here.

I was/am a big fan of Reid, but, if he's gone, he's gone. Would have loved to have had him on our team, but...........NEXT.

I've said it before the belief that a message board content takes a part in a recruits decision is just blatantly dumb. now twitter and Facebook is different.

So I guess I'll still watch Reid play Saturday and see what he looks like. Not that it really matters since it appears the coaches are looking elsewhere to fill that spot.

We really need as many top backs as we can get. Look what has happened to our WR corp this year. We have Hurd and Kamara, what's after those two for next year? Aren't we still in good shape for Love, Kelly, Reid, and Bussey? We need at least 2 of those (unless the staff feels Abernathy will make an impact). Even with Abernathy, we can use 2 of the 4 listed.

Seriously. WTF?!?

Who has bashed him? Just because someone feels that another player is better, does NOT mean they are bashing him.

I personally prefer Reid to Love myself....would love to have both, but if only one, I would pick Reid. I haven't noticed anyone bashing Reid though. They prefer someone else, but most say that Reid is good, just not who they prefer.
