And you think the comments on a message board are radically different than Twitter and Facebook posts? THAT is blatantly dumb.

If someone believes Twitter or Facebook could influence a recruit's decision, how could they not think message boards would have the same effect? The opinions on all platforms make their way to each other (both good and bad). Look at all the Twitter quotes on this board. And when conversations on this forum show up on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram ... many times by the recruits themselves (see Rocky Reid's tweet earlier).

Recruits don't follow message boards anywhere close to the way they follow social media so it's not even a close comparison. It's much more personal because its their Facebook page or Twitter. There is nothing personal about a message board.

Has been one of my favorite commits because I feel he is so underrated. We need him as our #2 or #3 next year. There is no one out there that we are "in on" That would be able to make an impact next year if it came right down to it. Vaughn would be my backup plan over the others and I would make room if they both wanted to come. JMO

Wrong. Recruits are all over these boards.

And apparently so is the writer from the Concord paper.

It's very personal. Threads are created especially for each recruit. Message board posters make pointed comments about how hard the player runs, which similar players are better, etc. You don't think they track this stuff? Watch the Twitter and Instagram interaction between UT recruits and fans. Check out the number of posts that are directly related to the comments on VN, VQ, et al.

I've seen quite a few posters on here saying reid isn't very good etc. Rb and qb are two totally different things. Does Auburn or Oregon only have small scat backs? No the main guy is the bigger more all around back. You need a mix and in the sec I prefer to have at least two of each due to the physically of the league. How many small backs do you see in the sec? All the elite backs are bigger guys every single one.

Yes it's fans like us posting on here not family members, friends etc like on Facebook and twitter. They don't know us and we don't know them why should they care what we say. Now if we got on their FB or twitter where their Mom, Girlfriend, Dad or any other family member could see and bashed them that is on a completely different level and it's not even close.

Not true Oregon and AU have for the most part used smaller and much quicker runningbacks, especially Oregon.

How many small backs is UT recruiting? Will say this one more time. Hurd is much bigger than Reid, Kamara and Bussey are almost the exactl same in weight and Love is the only small guy. Not getting your arguement. Would you rather have a physical guy 6' 210 like Reid who isn't very quick or a guy like Bussey 5'8 208 who is physical and runs a 4'44 and Kamara who is 5'10 210 is Physical and fast. Who's your choice???

Mason is the exact size as Bussey but Reid is a few inches taller so he has to be more physical right?? Wrong..Thankyou for proving my point those guys are fast as hell, Reid is not....

Can someone remind me again who it is that's bad-mouthing Reid? I keep seeing all these references to it but can't seem to find actual instances of it happening.

I love kamara. I also really like reid because of the physicality reminds me of Jeremy hill. Bussey I honestly could do without. I like love because of his play making ability but all I'm saying is I'm not a fan of taking bussey and cutting reid. If we take Kamara reid love and Bussey then I'm good with that.

Really only westside saying he was not a take. In his defense coaches may feel the same and he didn't dog Reid.

Just read through 15 pages and no one is bad talking him, the worst I could find is simply stating they would take a faster back than Reid. Everyone knows he is legit except westside.

De1conley said it yesterday that the coach's are cutting Reid loose and Skeeter just popped up in the Bussey thread about him being a Vol.

Exactly. I personally would never say anything bad about someone else's kid, but nothing wrong with having preferences.

Regardless of what Reid says, I am beginning to wonder if our coaches trust his commitment when he said that he wanted to see what else is out there. If that is his attitude then we need to look around too. I would not view that as a commitment on his part.

Especially with out depth chart next season we have one scholarship RB in Hurd, got Kamara now, Paulk possibly being reinstated but who knows on that so we gotta get two more RB's to go along with Kamara in this class.

This I definitely agree with. I also understand reid isn't a 4.4 guy and Bussey looks to be. I've grown to like reid more and more and really think he could be a good rb down the road here. I'm just tired of seeing one guy go down and then we are screwed. I'd have no issue with the staff bringing in 4 guys at rb. Most likely we will see a ton of hurd and Kamara next year.
