Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between a walk-on and a "preferred" walk-on?
Fresh off catching the game winning touchdown to win the state championship in Division-VI in Ohio, Minster tight end Eli Wolf has decided to decommit from Eastern Michigan.
Wolf, 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, is the younger brother of current Tennessee freshman tight end Ethan Wolf.
"Eli has decided to back away from his commitment to Eastern Michigan," the players father, James Wolf, said. "Tennessee has offered him a preferred walk-on opportunity, and I'm 99% sure that's going to happen."
"He is coming off a great season, and has other schools showing attention right now," the elder Wolf added. "I think the chance to play with his older brother is going to be hard to pass up, but we have to see how things go."
This past season, Eli Wolf caught 74 passes for 1,350 yards. He also scored 18 touchdowns. He was a first-team All-Ohio selection.

He finished the game with 145 yards & 3 TDs on 9 catches along with 8 tackles, 3 TFL, a sack & a forced fumble.
In the previous week's semifinal game, "Minster trailed Tinora 13-7 with under seven minutes to play in the game. After the Wildcat defense forced a punt attempt, Eli Wolf shot through the heart of the Ram line to block it and the ball was recovered by Chad Stoner."
Wolf was a 2-year starter at WR & OLB. He also runs track (PR of 11.16 in the 100 last year) and was one of Minster's best basketball players last year. When he committed to Eastern Michigan in July Wolf said, "They view me as sort of H-back, slash tight end. They want me to be mobile, to put me all over the place and I think that fits my game perfectly."
