'15 OH TE Eli Wolf

If true, then I really respect his decision. It's not easy to stand up for your beliefs.

It's one thing to stand up for your beliefs, it's quite another to bolt on your team and use your beliefs as an excuse. There are plenty of Christian NFL players that do a lot of good and a lot of them play for coaches that cuss like sailors.

Helm left because he wasn't a big fish in a small pond anymore. If he were truly that upset with "language" then he would have left sooner than now. That's a terrible excuse, even if it's true that it's his actual excuse.

Bottom line is that Wolf is a better TE and the recruiting rankings were wrong. Helm was really the 3* and Wolf was the 5.9 4*, which is why you'll probably never hear much about Daniel Helm in 3-4 years. Wolf will play in the NFL.

You're completely guessing.

JMO I think these kids that are thinking about leaving didn't realize how hard Butch pushes to learn all phases of the game. With a Bowl game it's almost year round work. It's a big commitment to football. With him taking a big class the numbers work out to a full class. Not everyone can handle all this work! Don't need the one's not willing to give 100%.

People transfer because they're not playing, or when they do play they're not performing well. Name someone who was a starter that transferred because their coach cusses. I'll wait.

It was culture shock for helm

Helm was a starter? Interesting.

Yeah, nice edit. So, culture shock for a year? He was an EE. If he was that shocked he could have left by now. Wolf > Helm. Helm was terrible when he did play. He could be good in a few years, but right now he's not the best we have. The culture shock is the bigger pond that he's now in, not curse words.

People can leave the program for different reasons than the two you just stated. You're just ignoring what people close to the program are saying and making stuff up and spouting it as fact.

You're ignoring my question. Name someone who was a starter that left for such a reason.

You can't.

People don't leave when they're starting, unless it's academic or trouble related. I'm not saying Helm isn't using that as an excuse and telling people that. But it's not why he's transferring.

Do you expect Helm to say what I'm saying??? Lol. Of course he wouldn't say that.

Get a clue.

Just cause a kid is leaving we don't need to thrash him. He is 18-19 years old and this is not the place for him. I wish him the best. Growing up is different for everyone and Helm is the only one that has the ultimate decision about his future.

I just hope one day he doesn't look back and regret it. I never regret the day I quit playing college ball due to some nagging injuries and that's all I can hope for anyone who gives it up.

This class of 30 something was always going to see attrition. Some are not up to what Butch demands of them and that's ok because it's better if they can't adjust to identify it and move on.

This is why it will take 4 years to have a true squad. Recruiting quality players and those that don't fit the puzzle ultimately likely will go play somewhere else.

There's a few people I trust on this board, you're not one of them.

I don't listen to anyone on this board when it comes to first hand knowledge, because no one here has that.

Again, even if Helm HAS said that, he's leaving because he isn't beating out Wolf. Period.

No doubt.

His throwing motion had a way of making any offensive coaching staff shout things so foul you wouldn't hear them anywhere else outside of an exorcism.
