'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

Right now. However, no one said that would be the case all season. If he's cleared by the doctors in October, why would you still hold him out? Remember he got hurt last November. ACL injuries usually keep an athlete out 9 months. We'd be hitting 10 months since the surgery in September.

Usually is the problem there. If we need him and think he can't contribute then go ahead. If not give him a full year to heal and make sure you have no issues.

JJ is going to be the kind of receiver that's a football player first, receiver second. He will fight for and win many more 50/50 balls than he loses. He's got the dog in him. Will be a 3rd down monster.

He's going to be the quintessential pain in he arse for a cornerback on runs to his side.

Would it be blasphemy to think of him like Hines Ward type player? Fight for every ball, ear hole someone when the run is to his side.

Imagine how good he'd be if he played WR all spring as well...
He'd probably be starting!

Seriously though, he's good because of his natural ability. Letting him play QB in the spring he should've been a high school senior was not a huge progression stunter.

Fair to say that nobody saw this coming either. When we heard about the position change I thought we'd hear about him again a year from now, maybe two. But these guys he's leapfrogged aren't slaw. We have a lot of talent at WR and apparently he's at the top of the pile... After a couple of months at the position. Crazy.

Looking forward to seeing him on gameday.

Yes. All this. The guys he's passing are legit, this isn't Vandy.

I cannot decide if Jennings or Jumper starting is more surprising to me but I'm leaning towards Jennings. I was keeping up with the rumors that Jennings was performing at a high level but I had wrongly assumed the praise was on the basis that he was exceeding expectations after a position switch not that he was going to start over other talented, more experienced players. Who would have ever thought Jennings would be the only freshman poised to start game 1 out of this class and that he would start at WR?
