'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

I think his assessment is way off. I did not see a "strong arm." What I did see is that he has a quick-release and a compact throwing motion. It's better than having an elongated throwing motion...certainly. But it could be much of the reason his passes don't seem to have a lot of zip on them.

He could be coached up and show a much stronger arm than what we've seen...especially as he grows in the S&C program

He's using all arm strength on his passes, right now.

I've seen him with some serious zip when he uses proper mechanics; it will come along.

He's gonna get a serious look at QB, and he will have at least 1 year if not 2 to work with the coaches on strength, mechanics, reads, film, whatever he needs. Kid is a gamer. The rest he has plenty of time.

Noticed this as well in his HUDL highlights part 1 that really shows off his skills. Once someone teaches him his proper mechanics in his base to where he is using his lower body more behind his throws then you could see him take off. It's clear this was his first time playing QB and was just out there making plays.

Is he throwing darts? Meaning is he not opening up his lats and turning the ball perpendicular to his body before throwing?

YES I am late but Welcome Mr. Jennings to Volnation!! :loco::rock::dance2::pepper::pepper::welcomec::td::td::run::run::3cheers::3cheers::groupwave::groupwave::baloon::fireworks:

And on that same play u can see Vic completely blow up his receiver and knock him on his azz at the bottom of the screen as soon as the guy tries to block him lol.

I believe Vic knocked that guy of his route, which is why Jennings ended up having to scramble.

Good question, any of our current commits plan on being EEs?

Preston, Cecil, Andrew, and I'm not sure but I think Jack Jones tweeted something about EE, correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: just checked and Jones does plan on being an EE, and so does Jerome Dews.

Appreciate it...would be nice to get a few OL and DL to EE.

Wonder if any of the QB '15 targets are EEs? Would think CBJ would prefer one of the QBs in the class to be an EE.

:hi:, and yes it would be great to get some OL EE to help rebuild the line. Maybe Gentry would be an EE? Getting a QB to EE will be helpful for the development, but hopefully we will have the opportunity to redshirt our QBs we get in this class.

Watched his Hudl film. The media guys are right when they say that his passing is a work in progress - much like Nick Marshall, it was serviceable at best. That being said, you can tell that the tools are there, they just need refining. And he is absolutely electric running the read option. Really, the Nick Marshall comparison just pervades the entire tape, if you ask me.

Also - still trying to figure out why in the world they would include a bunch of incomplete passes in his tape. Makes no sense at all haha.

He's so highly rated, even his incompletions are awesome

Somewhere, a vandy fan is crying. Then trying to rationalize. Woe is the anchor. Is it an anchor or an albatross?
