I'm almost 100% sure he injured it on one of his first runs in the game, when he landed awkwardly going to the ground.

Yeah his arm was stretched awkwardly and somebody landed on it. He kept playing though and aggravated it more on a hit he laid on defense iirc.

"The Hendersonville, Tenn., native and standout at Beech High School injured his shoulder during Sunday’s nationally-televised game against Station Camp High School.

Hurd briefly left the game after landing awkwardly on his shoulder, but returned a few plays later. That injury turned out to be more than minor, with further tests reportedly revealing a torn labrum."

4th offensive play of the game for Beech... The 1st was a 60 yd TD...

Didn't get to watch the game so was wondering about his stats and didn't see this posted in this thread yet.

Blaze beat heat, Patriots 28-21 on ESPN2

Also got two touchdowns on the ground.

Would have had close to or over 100 had that run at the end of the game not gotten called back on a penalty. To get close to a 100/100 yard stat sheet against that Defense is quite the accomplishment. Hopefully we see more stat sheet stuffing coming up in the future.

I finally got a chance to watch the Blackman-Oakland game on my DVR. The analysts called it right --- he's an athlete. He's MUCH better with his feet right now. He's not afraid of contact and he made some defenders look silly. He also got his bell rung by the safety. He'll have to learn to protect his body if he's going to survive in the SEC.

He does have a strong arm but he doesn't look like an SEC-type quarterback right now. I only saw him on two snaps on defense so I can't really make a judgement there. It seems like we could find a place for his athletic ability somewhere on the field (which is the definition of an 'athlete', right?). I just don't see how he's going to end up at Quarterback. If he does, it'll take some time to develop him.

All IMO of course.

I think his future could be at DB. Although who knows. The guy has talent there is no denying that.

He can play anywhere and be good but I really like to see his playmaking ability with ball in his hands. If QB doesn't pan out he could be a nice WR too. I think he has the QB skills though to succeed
