'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

I could be wrong on this, but i see more overthrows on Worley's misses this year than lack of power. Now last year he did underthrow North a dangerous amount. But i see more balls sailing over the receiver this year... which is surprising that he doesn't have more INTs because those are usually picked off by the FS. But

But back to Jauan, he does have a nice flick of the wrist that can just send the ball wherever he wants to and surprisingly good touch on balls he needs to drop over a trailing defenders' heads.

Agree that Worley usually overthrows when he misses at all this year, but that's not exactly the point I was making. My point was that in the occasions that Worley does underthrow a ball, it's almost always because his feet aren't set - that he has the arm strength to make every throw when he can step into it, but not when he's off-balance or throwing on his back foot. As opposed to Jauan, who seems to be able to launch it even if his feet aren't right.

Just clarifying that part. We obviously agree that Jauan's arm strength is impressive. :hi:

Yea, I just read your first post too fast. You're right though, if Worley gets his feet set, he has every bit the cannon someone of Bray/Mettenburger's ilk.

Worley has actually been pretty good at stepping up in the pocket and throwing.

I remember a few throws of him moving left and delivering a strike. I think most of Worley's issues were just confidence.

It remains to be seen about Dobbs. Most thought Worley would suck this year. Dobbs could be this years Worley or better next year.

I hope so, the alternative is Dobbs is wildly inaccurate and its incurable. I'm hoping it was just some tips from Whitfield that weren't conducive for Dobbs..

If Tiny stayed neither Worley nor Peterman keep getting blanked from the blindside. Not a knock on Kerbyson AT ALL, he's a quality lineman playing out of position. Of course Worley is getting harassed from both sides of the line.

Yea and apparently it didn't work for Dobbs. I think it screwed him up. Luck and Newton are NFL superstars.

I see it more like a golf lesson where the Pro has to fix a swing flaw...it absolutely screws you up because you have to unlearn the flaw then groove the fix.
During the transition, it is awfully frustrating. You lose confidence and suddenly your whole game sucks...

It takes lots of repetition to eradicate the flaw and learn the new way. The Cerebellum controls action sequences. Once you set an engram, you no longer think about it. You think throw pass and the Cerebellum makes it happen. Breaking that pattern once it is set is tough. Many times you think it is corrected, but apply pressure and you revert to the previous flawed sequence.

It is a shame that this is not like The Matrix :)

Soooo... you think we run a lot of play-action tomorrow or did i read that wrong?

j/k Vols Doc... that certainly makes sense to me. Maybe Whitfield's pointers turn out to be a good thing, I just hope it didn't "Chuck Knoblauch" him.
