I'm becoming increasingly interested in and hopeful about the idea of JJ being our next QB. I love Dormady, but we know one thing about running QBs: they have a much better shot of taking a mediocre offense to the next level. They can handle playing behind a less than stellar offensive line, and they can make plays happen even if nobody else is pulling their weight.
JJ may not have the ceiling of Dormady (though I don't know for sure that he doesn't). And he may have a better chance at not being a good SEC QB. But, I think that he could step in and give us a better shot at upsetting a few teams and at keeping our offense in the game for the rest.
Not to mention, he has been putting up some impressive passing stats, and has looked very good in the highlights that I've seen. I'd love for him to keep it up and to come in and get some action for us in 2015, allowing Dormady to redshirt, and to see him start for us in 2016.
You don't schedule games like that to sit starters either. That is a marquee game for Tennessee and Alabama HS football in general.
I've thought for awhile that QD will be the better QB at first and with him being an EE certainly helps, but in the long run I think Jennings will prove to be the better weapon due to his speed and athleticism..
Kinda like how great Peyton was when he was here but it was Tee Martin that won the big one..
They haven't seen him in person. He's got a cannon. He will thrive in this offense.
Yep...I just love it when people take hearsay and message board conjuncture as fact and keep spouting it over and over when there is no basis in fact.
If I am going to critique him on anything that he needs to work on for the next level it is his release. He needs to quicken his motion up a little to throw against SEC defenses, but that is a fixable problem....as Dobbs demonstrated tonight.
How can you not be excited about this guy? Has all the tools plus is a good bit faster than Dobbs. Will get to sit and redshirt behind him and will get a couple of years of S&C.
What's Dobbs speed compared to Jennings?
