'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

When do they play Hoover? The final game? That game will tell us a lot.

Not sure what you mean by that. However, I don't think it will that much. Their starting running back got hurt last night. He is out until the playoffs. They locked up the District Championship thus a 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs so the Hoover game means nothing but potential injuries. I would be very very surprised to see starters play much more than a half.

You don't schedule games like that to sit starters either. That is a marquee game for Tennessee and Alabama HS football in general.

Trust me. We are going down there to win the game.

Prior to Spring practice when this game was mentioned, we had a parents meeting. Shadowens wants to prove something. He was very excited about this game. Told us that he wants Blackman to be thought of like Hoover. He wants to win... bad.

So does the team.

Oh I agree. Not sure why you even schedule a game like that if you have no intention to win it by playing your best players. I have no doubt they intend to play the starters and make every attempt to win the game.

I hope so, as a fan. It's going to be a great game. I just wish they were at full strength for it. I completely agree, Shad is going down there to win, but winning the gold ball is FAR more important to him than trying to make a statement against an out of state team in Week 10. I have a feeling there will be a re-evaluation at half. Should they be up or down 17 or 20 at half, don't think starters play 2nd half. Within 10 either way, I think they go the distance.

This seems like one of those famous stories where we here an athlete get told his whole life that he couldn't play a certain position and then he ends up being a star. I really truly believe this will be one of those cases.

The number of people saying that is dwindling by the week.

volinsmyrna,

Do you know anything about Ikenna Okeke? The Volquest guys seem to thimk he could get an offer soon.

Nice player. Slower version of R. Gaulden, imo. He'll be a top 15 player in the state or so. We seem to offer that range of kids, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise. He would be a kid for depth. With the roster we will have by next year in the Secondary, he is probably a realistic get. If he wants to play/start early, I think he would want to go to a lesser competitive league/division. This is just my opinion....haven't seen a whole lot of him.

Let's hope this kid is the answer to our prayers, UT DESPERATELY needs a DT QB who can run their offense.

I think McKenzie and Tuttle will be great at Dt. We just need a qb next season.

If the OL does not improve, may need McKenzie to be a DT QB (Defensive Tackle @ QB) he could handle the rush...imagine the QB keeper :)
Have Cecil Cherry as FB :)

As good as the Defense will be, just have the DL play both ways.

Our depth on DT is gonna be sick. Wouldn't be surprised to have a few DT/DEs move over to the OL

I'm becoming increasingly interested in and hopeful about the idea of JJ being our next QB. I love Dormady, but we know one thing about running QBs: they have a much better shot of taking a mediocre offense to the next level. They can handle playing behind a less than stellar offensive line, and they can make plays happen even if nobody else is pulling their weight.

JJ may not have the ceiling of Dormady (though I don't know for sure that he doesn't). And he may have a better chance at not being a good SEC QB. But, I think that he could step in and give us a better shot at upsetting a few teams and at keeping our offense in the game for the rest.

Not to mention, he has been putting up some impressive passing stats, and has looked very good in the highlights that I've seen. I'd love for him to keep it up and to come in and get some action for us in 2015, allowing Dormady to redshirt, and to see him start for us in 2016.

I've thought for awhile that QD will be the better QB at first and with him being an EE certainly helps, but in the long run I think Jennings will prove to be the better weapon due to his speed and athleticism..

Kinda like how great Peyton was when he was here but it was Tee Martin that won the big one..

I really wish he was an EE. He and Dormady appear to have a lot of potential.
