'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

What's Dobbs speed compared to Jennings?

He is faster. His stride makes him look like he might not be going as fast, but he can move. He also has more wiggle in him, imo. Rarely does anybody get a clean shot on him. His elusiveness in the open field is really good for a 6'4 kid.

Both Dobbs and Jennings fit this offense well. Need to get Jauan into the weight room and get him into the system as well. Excited for the future and these final 4 games. Let's go win them all.

Jennings is definitely faster than Dobbs. Dobbs is very elusive but he is not beating very many people in a foot race. And whoever said that Jennings had a great frame to add weight had not seen him in person workout pads on. Very narrow shoulders. Small waist. Thin legs. He will be a kid that struggles to add a lot of weight.

Was confused when someone said that as well. Dobbs was 180 his freshman year and added some weight the offseason and seems more comfortable and has a zip on some of his throws. Once jennings gets some time in the S&C program he will be bigger and stronger. Still want him at QB because he has a great potential there

Yeah, his max is about 215 or 220 for his frame. He has room to add weight, but he will never be very thick. At least he won't lose a bunch of weight this winter playing basketball. Hopefully he can be around 190 by the time the season starts next year.

Nobody knows that for sure.

yeah, not sure about the "without Butch" part, but Saturday made it obvious to me that this offense works better with a Dual Threat guy. Feels pretty good to have the #6 DT QB in the country committed.

I like Worley and feel really bad for him. He has been a warrior and put in some bad spots, but his inability to get out of trouble has gotten him beat up.

I am excited to see the growth from Jennings once he gets to campus and see him compete.

Neiko Creamer got 2-3 weeks of offseason workouts before he was moved to defense, and he was adamant about being a WR.

The staff told D. Barnett that he is going to be a DE, but I doubt he ever practices a snap there.
It is what it is.

This has nothing to do with JJ, but I was going back through the thread (nothing better to do I guess) and this gem jumped out at me. I'm so glad all of us message board "evaluators" don't get to make the actual decisions that relate to the program.

Sort of a low blow if you ask me. Fort and Hubbs said in fall practice the coaches were pleasantly surprised at the athleticism of Barnett and Hendrix at their size. Sounds like they were fully intending to make them DT's when they signed.

It's not a low blow. Dude made a comment that turned out to be wrong. We all do at some point.... some more than others. I was one who thought Utah St would be close. It's ok as long as you're willing to man up and own it.

No low blow intended....just found it funny.

That is absolutely nuts.

Definitely the craziest 1st quarter I have seen. They accomplished their strategy of keeping our offense off the field, but i don't think it turned out quite like they had pictured it. Craziest part, later in the game they actually punted it right to the kid with the 2 kick off returns, and he almost broke that one.

They know better now.

So you're telling me it was like the Mizzou vs. Florida game with the defense doing all the damage?

For the first quarter it was. Their first snap of offense came in the Second quarter. The offense did provide the last 21 points, so not quite to the Mizzou level.
