'15 TN ATH Jaylond Woods (UT Commit 4/20/13)

I'm a 2009 Maryville grad, and everyone knows thats the only blount county school that actually matters in football

Knowing Jay, it is certainly possible he pissed in a trash can. With that being said I seriously doubt it happened because I would have definitely heard about it. He does get in trouble however its mostly for absences, etc-- nothing that CBJ wont straighten out immediately.

He has had a very disappointing season. With that being said, I blame the coaches. He is only getting 5-8 touches per game the last few games. Also, by disappointing I don't mean bad; I just mean disappointing for him.

Seen him play tonight against rhea county. Team lost but I thought he played well fast and shifty runner and not a bad defender. Seems small though.

id be surprised if this kids a part of the class next year. just not a killer film and I think we will be able to jump on better players. I don't think he has the speed or quickness at his small size to be a difference making slot man.

I think he's plenty quick and fast enough but grades are an issue from what I've heard

He's literally never been coached either so there is potential in that regard

Despite that, If next years class is anything like this years then I would provably have to agree with you.

yea I watched it again, I just don't see anything that makes me go dang. he has one hard stutter move that he used a lot as his bread and butter, but I didn't see any true shake, more so just that and run around the defense. maybe some good coaching will help me, or maybe he just goes to camps and kills it proving me wrong this summer. we shall see.

I smell a self-quote coming in a few months.

Several ways for me to state my previous post:

(1) Staff does not consider Woods a commit

(2) Miscommunication led to Woods committing; never had committable offer

(3) Woods has academic concerns and staff has moved on

(4) Wood unlikely to be part of '15 class. JMO.

You pick.

Dang why you have to go and do him like that!!! GOTTTTEMM!!!!!

"Me and coach Jones went to his room and I told him I'm thinking about committing and he told me to come give him a hug and he said now it's important to keep my grades up and get your body built more so that's something I have to work on," Woods said.

Looks to me like the coaches took his commitment.
