#1 on the top 10 for the Combine with his SPARQ score.
First time posting a vid on here. Hopefully it posts right. Will edit if not. :hi: :)

It is my understanding the Nathan has been invited to the Opening.

Looks like the kind of athlete Oregon likes to have in their offense. He may not be what UT is looking for(don't ask me why), but maybe the ducks can give him a stage to shine on.

You don't know if we'll offer or not. Or Oregon

I did say "maybe". OR does seem to like smaller, quick, speedy type of players. If the kid does well at the opening, I could see OR making a run at him. Rushing for almost 2000 yards and then posting the Sparq score he did tells me he's a football player. I think the kid gets a shot on a big stage to play college ball.

Has he even visited? If I were recruit and lived in a college town, I would be at every camp possible.

Has UT ever contacted him? Him being local, you would think that is kind of their job to identify the local talent and evaluate/make contact with them. If a school had not made an effort to contact me, I may not make them a priority. As much as a lot of us are UT fans, not every kid instate or not feels the same way. I know a lot of people say he should go to a UT camp and earn an offer. It looks to me like he is going to bigger camps and showing out. Maybe that UT offer is not something he is really worried about. I'd love to see the kid end up a Vol, but it looks like that is unlikely as of now.

Looks like he was at the Rivals camp as well.

I get what youre saying, but his only offer is AP. I would camp at every nearby school to try to earn an offer. A lot of times, once a school offers other schools take notice.

Maybe he is hitting the bigger camps now and will then take trips to colleges during/after his SR year. I would think with another 1500+ yard season, the offers will come. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, when your going for 2000 yards as a RB, college offers will come.

Wait.....doesn't Todd Kelly play in East TN?
Yeah. One player is so indicative of the talent level of East TN. Not to mention Kelly and Cottrell are not even in the same division. Knoxville produces quality players from time to time, but to say that the competition is strong in East TN, as one compares it to the talent in the rest of the southeast is foolish.

I agree with the sentiment of your argument 100% that you can't judge an entire area based on one player. For what it's worth, however, Cottrell plays in a much tougher class, top to bottom, than TK's division. That said, East TN football as a whole is relatively weak ( in regard to a national viewpoint).

UT coaches are very well aware of Nathan. He needs to continue what he's doing by going to combines etc. and then sign up for one UT's camps this summer and do what he does best. It would really help if he could show that he could play slot too.

Glad we're on the same page. I realize that TK played lesser competition than Cottrell. I was merely defending the previous post made by LionPride. I'm from Knoxville, so while I'm by no means an authority on East TN football. I'm familiar with the divisions and classifications of the area.

Everybody has been saying that for a long time, but they just keep on winning state championships..

Just sayin...
