I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Amadi is waiting to see how Phillips' OV goes this weekend.
With how torn UGO is I could see KP coming back home raving about TN and being 100% on board could be the final push he needs to come back to the big orange.

I got a call this morning telling me that Ugo Amadi was leaning towards Tennessee, and would likely announce for the Vols on Monday. The news sort of came out of the blue, but wasn't overly surprising considering the way he's sort of been back and forth over the past month or so. After that I reached out to a few more people and came to the following conclusions.
1. Amadi will likely not announce a decision on Monday as previously reported. I think that was a bit of a hasty declaration on his part, especially considering that he's spend the week up in Cookeville at an all-star game and not really focused on recruiting. Because of the game he won't be able to take an official this weekend, something that he wanted to do before announcing the Monday decision.
2. Amadi's status as an early enrollee is still up in the air. Amadi wants to enroll early but a school that recently entered the picture, Ohio State, wants him to wait. Amadi was hoping to take an official to Ohio State before announcing his decision, but with the dead period coming that clearly won't happen. So does he wait and give the Buckeyes a shot? That remains to be seen.
3. Amadi is still high on LSU. Over the past few months I have always viewed LSU as a major threat. Amadi idolizes the Honey Badger and the Tigers were pitching him to play a similar role. However, I was told LSU had cooled on Amadi last month but I'm not sure if that has changed or not. LSU remains a wildcard.
4. The person I talked to told me it's a battle between Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU and Ohio State with no announcement coming on Monday and no final date set.
While this is all sort of confusing news, it's clear that this is becoming a very complicated situation. I don't think all of this is necessarily bad news for Tennessee, because if he wasn't mulling his options he would have already shut things down. If I had to make a final prediction today, I would say he ends up at Tennessee, but there are some interesting variables at play with the Ohio State and LSU angles. Last week at this time I was pretty sure he was a lock for Ole Miss, so it shows how quickly things can change.
I don't know why he has a stick up his ass when it comes to UT. You can tell even in his interviews that he makes it a point to make some backhanded remark to shine a negative light on the program.

"and he catches it at the 5 and he'll decide to take it out. And he he runs up the sideline, sidesteps a defender (crowd noise in background goes up in volume so you know the play is over), and he is still on his feet and there he goes with a spin move and he is still running, he's down the sideline, where he drags a couple of tacklers with him and he's all the way to the 11 yard line. Where the vols will take over on downs and have 89 yards to go to the cheggarboards."
If we get Phillips would we still take Walker if he wanted to be a Vol? Would be hard to turn down a talent like his, just curious if that has been mentioned.
Woody got his feeling hurt when he first started and claimed to be a math whiz and even claimed to have an outrageous SAT score. He got lambasted pretty good for it. I think that's why. Rivals' analysts are fickle and temperamental.
I'm thinking that Walker, Sapp, and Phillips are all takes. If all three wanted to come, they will be Vols IMO. Here's why:
Walker will be Maggit's replacement. Henderson would have fit this role, but he isn't going to be here come 2015. Taylor can also play up or down.
Sapp is a true SLB. He'd provide depth just in case Bates does move to MLB.
Phillips will replace Hendrix if he leaves. If Hendrix does stay :shades:, then Phillips will be great competition for him. So will Butcher.
If we landed Phillips, Ford, Walker, Taylor, Butcher, Sapp, Smith, Kirkland, KMac, Shy, Jackson(?), and Picou, that'd be the best front seven haul in the country. Cool thing is, it's not really a stretch to believe it could happen.
