'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

Atleast right now Martin is on a different level at CB. We need the speed and instincts he as at corner and need that in '15. Amadi may be a great CB but there is just so much drama that comes with some of these recruits. Not saying he is like that but some like we have dealt with in the past worry more about attention and being catered to and told how awesome are over actually wanting to take their decision serios and change their mind once a month. That's why Preston Williams makes me nervous, with the whole Dr. Andrews thing, his comments on twitter about he wasn't gonna redshirt and may have to rethink things instead of talking to the Coach's first. I really hope we can hold onto to him but with Van possibly not going to Athens it wouldn't shock me a bit if he flipped to GA on signing day. I may be way off on him and hope I am because he will be a beast if his head is right.

P. Will. will be fine. Ugo has great speed, and he has the potential to be a very good nickel CB 2-3 years from now. The worry is with Phillips. Phillips has made comments in the past about us that have not set well with me. Saying I'll wait and see how we look isn't a guy I actively want. I want people who want to be part of the solution no matter what. I could be way off in left field here, but losing Jackson may really hurt us because I think Phillips is LSU bound. This is also why I believe losing Hendrix and Henderson hurts much worse than people acknowledge. You never want to lose prospects with raw talent like Hendrix and Henderson have. It won't be a big deal if we bring in Walker and Phillips, but I see a very possible scenario in which Phillips and Jackson go to LSU, Walker goes to UGA, and we are left trying to find at least one more DE by NSD. I could see us landing Ugo, Phillips, Martin, and Walker, and I could also see us losing to other SEC teams for every one of these guys.

We got Robertson from Vandy at the last minute and only because James Franklin left. Same story with Sawyers.

Guess we can tell those guys to hit the road, eh?

I never said stopped recruiting him... Simply saying it's not a good idea to put it all on Phillips when we just lost two DEs from the last class, and one from the 2015 class. Richmond should be a lesson learned. We don't need to throw all our money on a guy who's said in the past he wants to see results before committing. We already whiffed on OTs, let's not do the same for the remaining DE spots we now need to fill.

Ah ha ho ho.. My dear friend, nothing can make me feel better. You should know I swim in tears that my poor soul sheds constantly. I am a sad old chap that will decease soon. Let me wallow in my misery... while I can...

If these 2 go to LSU, and the trade off is Martin and Walker then I am just fine with that.

But I'm greedy and would like to have all 4.

If I had to choose between Amadi/Phillips and Martin/Walker, I'd rather have Martin and Walker... But, I'm with you. All 4 would be nice :)

This guy, Phillips and Richmond are starting to smell like reaches we will whiff on. Persuing the top guys is awesome but when it costs you say your #2 or #3 on the board it is a worst case and sucks the fun out. I'm more conservative in nature and would much rather see us take a guy a couple rungs down that wants to be here from the jump.

Eh, you might miss out on a guy like Barnett if you move further down your board. I think we've moved on from Richmond. Phillips is still in play and honestly if we miss we still have a damn fine Dline class. The only question mark in this entire class is at the tackle position IMO; it's been this staff's only miss and we still have a few kids in play although IDK how strong we look with those.

I don't disagree. Some of my feelings on it come fron watching previous staff blunder so much. I'm sure however it ends we'll have a great class.

I would rather see us go after an OT at this point anyway. Even if he is a guy that will just likely play in the 2 deep as a Jr and Sr I am ok with that. We really need depth at that position. I would have took Phillips though if he really wanted to be here. His mom is influencing him on this and moms usually win out. Still hope we get Martin. He is instant depth if he does not earn a starting job. He will play for sure.

I saw Amadi and the kid from McGraw play this year and I was far more impressed by Amadi. To be fair Overton asks a heck of a lot from Amadi than Ensworth asks of Mcgraw.

Do that and there's a very good chance we remain an average football team. If you want to play with and beat the best consistently, then you have to recruit the best.

OT is a hard position to project though. I'm not talking about bringing in a 2-star or unrated guy. Maybe a 3 star that has tons of potential and makes his grades at the last minute. Someone every body gave up on. Or a basketball guy with good footwork that is under the radar because he didn't play football his senior year. Maybe he suddenly realizes basketball is not his best option.
