"It's my hometown team," Jackson said of UT. "Obviously I've grown up here the past couple of years and it's hard not to develop the hype for their traditions and the team.
"This was out of the blue," Jackson said. "I had never talked to them before. I got one of their phone numbers via Twitter and gave him a call. I talked to coach (John) Chavis and he was the one who extended me the offer. He just likes that I'm a good young man and that I play hard and smart.
"I'm committed to Tennessee but I'm still thinking about whether to take visits," he said. "I've been talking to Stanford, Alabama and Vanderbilt as well. I've obviously had the Tennessee offer for a while. Vanderbilt, that was my first offer before this new coaching staff came in. Alabama came in slightly after my commitment to Tennessee and Stanford was a little bit after that."
"It would be exciting to take some other visits and see more of the country," he said.
