That's a good point, but I still think it's something they need to be working on.

Soooo you watch one video of a kid setting his PR on bench and all you wanna talk about is what he ISN'T doing? Or do you know for a fact he isn't doing any endurance training?

Maybe you should go pick him up in Coalfield and help him commute to D-1 so he can work on the things that you assume he isn't doing.

BTW that's about an hour fifteen minute drive from Knoxville.

Yep none of us know what else he is doing. He very well could be running his butt off for all we know. at the same time we aren't exactly expecting or needing Zach to be a key contributor as a true freshman. The Oline rotation is pretty much set besides the potential of Richmond at Tackle getting in the mix. We are good on the interior line though

Just a personal belief, but I think we have the potential to have one of the better interior lines in the league in the next couple of years. Hopefully we can get the tackle spots up to speed with the interior.

Yeah I feel better about the Oline just because Butch is clearly more optimistic about them this year. Last year he might as well had just said we suck and I'm very afraid. He is actually pretty happy with them so dar. Debord effect I'm sure

I'm with ya on that. Even if they're an average SEC line this year, we will be a much improved team, and possibly win another 1 or 2 because of it. My hope is that Mahoney and DeBord have them above average though.

I have it on good authority he rises at 4:30 each morning for a 3 mile jog, followed by an hour of chores around the farm. Goes to school where he spends his free period tutoring in the special education classroom. After school spends 3 hours on lifting and agility drills before heading over to the homeless mission to serve dinners. Heads home for an hour of studies before going to bed promptly at 9, after saying his prayers of course!

He doesn't help his mom with the evening dishes? Don't want.

As a coalfield alum, I have to say that coalfield is closer to Knoxville than that. You can get to turkey creek in 30 to 40 minutes.

As I said in my initial post, it's great to see these guys throwing up big numbers. As I said in a subsequent post, it's an impressive accomplishment that took lots of hard work and dedication and deserves to be celebrated. Nowhere in that post did I criticize Zack Stewart or say that he "ISN'T" doing anything.

I was only trying to make a broader point that there is more to being in football shape than being able to lift lots of weight. Benching 500 lbs doesn't do you much good if you're exhausted after a handful of plays, so I hope these young guys are taking a well-rounded approach to conditioning. Once they're on campus, I know they'll get good guidance in that regard. While they're on their own, who knows?

No, that was Austin Sanders. Stewart is not enrolled yet.

Austin did a good job this time firing off at the whistle and getting leverage on Vickers. Just a week or two ago Austin went against Big Charles and was NOT ready when they blew the whistle - and Mosely shoved him all the way to Neyland Drive
