If we land Richmond, I would consider this recruiting class perfect...PERFECT! Of course, they still have to perform on the field but I don't think any recruiting service in existence could possibly find a weakness in this class anywhere. It addresses pretty much every need we had and with high caliber, blue chip players.

Agree

You mean the same O&W game where Worley threw for 3 tds also & ran for 75 yards including a 54 yard run to the 2 yard line against the 1st team D. Dobbs struggled badly with accuracy even when throwing to undefended wrs in fall camp. coaches arent stupid, they make calls based on the facts. Credit Dobbs for continuing to work to get better.

I guess you missed the part where I said "after Worley got hurt". I agree that coming out of the O&W game Dobbs was behind Worley, but Dobbs was clearly the more talented and a better fit for this system.

I'm being cautious of anything until NSD and I see the fax. I don't trust The Network. Hugh will have them work even harder thanks to Khalil's dumbass tweet.

"Them" were going to be working even harder anyway between now and NSD because of Drew's trip to Knoxville. I doubt seriously that Freeze's desire to hold onto a 5* OT's commitment is effected by KM's tweet. Freeze was going to have the Memphis Mafia put the full-court press on DR regardless of the tweet

CBJs biggest failure to date is not recognizing Worley wasn't the guy and Dobbs was way better

Jones has said that the Josh Dobbs that started the season and the Josh Dobbs that ended it were two entirely different QBs. He also said that Josh matured and learned a lot since he was called in to take over the position. I think that's pretty fair as an assessment. Worley was the best option at the time. In a perfect world, Worley wouldve started all year and Dobbs would have another three years to start.

Drew should stay in Knoxville until Wednesday. Instead of a fax rolling in, he can just step in front of the fax cam. Hold up his LOI, and say "Boom!"

I believe a facsimile is as good as the original document/contract in a court of law but a scanned copy may not be. One reason to always ask for the original signed document in a legal dispute.

faxing and scanning have same effect

I'm with you. OT was by far our largest need and we are adding top national talent. Big if though on drew Richmond coming.

One school's fans are certainly going to be butthurt over this. I hope it's not ours.

Again remarkable talent but this is going to be a sideshow going up to NSD. Fair to think that the kid really wants to be at UT since he spent so much time there. The mom factor seemed to be pulling him to Ole Miss, no idea if we've done enough to overcome that. Big factor that we've already seemingly beat out Bama though.

So incredibly true! I've been as hard on him as any fan for this. It's not just recognizing that Dobbs was better...Its recognizing that Dobbs fits the system and worley didn't. It just doesn't seem like it should have been difficult to see. But hey, everyone is going to make mistakes. The energy and recruiting he's bringing to Knoxville is like nothing I've seen in my lifetime.

I want to celebrate but will reserve till Wed. I want to caution everyone not to count their chickens till they hatch. I could see this one going back and forth three or four more times.

Any word from VQ crew?

That's an alibi man. Seeing how big of a mistake hemade hhe's said things like...Well in my defense Dobbs is one of those guys that doesn't practice well bla bla bla.
It doesn't matter at this point. Doubt Butch makes the same mistake again. Hes said unequivocally Dobbs is the man moving forward. Now let's just enjoy the hell out of what's happening in recruiting. It may not ever happen again!

OK. Was not sure how the court viewed it since a scan can be manipulated where a fax cannot.

Yeah. I guess you could manipulate either one. Originals are definitely preferred, but either scan or fax can be accepted as an alternative, unless there is an issue as it being altered.

I hate faxing, but unfortunately so many people still use it today. I usually ask people to scan/email things to me because I like to save them on my computer

Yep, I am the same way. I like to save all my docs as PDF and back them up.:good!:

Then you haven't been paying attention.

Actions speak louder than words. I am glad he and his family are enjoying the visit but there are two cool down days and a get back to reality before signing day in Memphis. I hope that the friendships that he has with our commitments are stronger than what he will face in the next 48-72 hours.

But we have already played the "shame on you" part with this kid recruiting to OM on his first visit. I am not willing to play the "shame on me" with him until he de-commits from Ole Miss. At this point he could still go home and start calling recruits and tell them I took everything UT had to offer and they can't compare to Ole Miss, which is a ridiculous statement. But kids are vulnerable.

Correct. Kahlil's tweets didn't change anything. Freeze and Ole Miss were already desperate to sign him and were definitely monitoring Richmond's twitter last night when he retweeted everything UT related sent his way.

This thread now has everything. From our O line woes to arguments over the QB to discussions over the legality of faxes.

Greatest thread ever
