'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of National Signing Day, I shall fear no decommitment for Butch is with me. Ole Miss's tears and butthurt, they comfort me. Thou preparest a buffet of commits before me in the presence of UT's rivals: thou annointest my head with five stars; the class runneth over. Surely championships and booms shall follow in the years to come: and I will dwell in Butch's brick house for ever.

Hopefully the way their fans have treated DR,Ole Miss will lose the Memphis recruiting ground to Tennessee for good.

Did you read my previous post? It's happening as we speak. The racial slurs, added to what that university is and represents, is really helping here. Lol!

@CoachHughFreeze: He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices 4 those which he has. Epictetus-Give thanks n all things

Freeze turned us in to the ncaa for putting Richmond on tv

It's my guess that the NCAA will penalize ESPN for putting DR on TV. They will make them send bonus checks to all the top NCAA officials. I also understand that Freeze will be sent to the NCAA school to learn the rules and told to quit posting his tweets to recruits.
Did I mi$$ anything?

Yeah because the other guy really made a whole lot of sense by lumping an entire generation into a flimsy stereotype. Please.

It's a fitting stereotype. A defining characteristic of that generation as a whole is sitting behind a keyboard and saying venomous things on the internet. How can you disagree with that? Google cyber bullying and see how prevalent it is.

I believe that OM fans are sinking to the "look at what TCU, Baylor and Mizzou have done with mostly 3 star players" argument.

Wow, I can't imagine what DR's mom & dad (& other parents of HS kids) are thinking when they read some of that OM vitriol. smdh

lmao thanks for laugh. "Google cyber bullying" Google human nature. :thud:

How can I disagree? Oh I don't know, maybe it's the whole "lumping an entire generation into a single stereotype" thing. Seems....I don't know...shallow?

The TV thing is ridiculous. The NCAA cannot penalize or hold a university responsible for what a network shows during a live broadcast with regards to recruits. Do we want to pull the thousands of examples of college sporting events showing recruits?? Any coach, or any person for that matter, that wants to push that issue is going to fail miserably.

Quite laughable. I hope this discussion ends yesterday.

As someone born in 1990 ( some studies say I'm the last Gen X others say I'm the first Millenials) When I hear this argument I always laugh. Blaming the youth for being young and broadly making generalizations seems to only be something the older generations do. I and many of my friends are nothing like you just described, however I know many people who are like that, but it has nothing to do with our age. It has everything to do with how we were raised.

If there is any blame to be had in a generation, and really there never should be, then it should be placed firmly on the shoulders that raised them and set their examples growing up. It's just immature and closed minded to make sweeping broad comments about any people, especially one whose oldest people aren't even 30 yet, which means we can't actually do anything significant politically or socially.

Now if we're still jackasses when we're old, that's when we can look for problems.

Wut?

I've never seen nor heard a study refer to someone born in 1990 as a Gen Xer, and I took political statistics in college.

SIAP-

But a poster on TOS mentioned something about a package deal with Drew Richmond and his teammate Malik Gatewood as a walk-on. Not sure if there is any credence to the rumor but thought it was interesting.

Stereotypes have their place. He's not saying every single member of that generation always acts a certain way, that's not what a stereotype means. I can see your point, it doesn't seem fair to those who break the stereotype, just like all old people don't yell at kids to get off their lawn.

or maybe Blair was getting the Dobbs treatment. CBJ was saving him for the next 2 years. Remember Dobbs was not supposed to see the field last year. I'm gonna hold out faith that Blair will live up to his 4 star JUCO billing and be a good starter for us next season.

I wondered if this could be a possiblilty a while back...

I think Blair will be a good player for us. Remember it was a close battle with Gilliam before the season started. I'm convinced they just wanted to redshirt him. After taking a year to learn the system and be in the S&C program, I think he'll be a beast.

Not sure what he meant there. We are not generation X. We are technically Millennials or "Generation Y".

It goes Baby Boomers (50-65), Generation X (65-early 80s), Millenials (80s to 2000), then Generation Z (which 2000-present).
