Probably said she was a control freak, which sounds like a very accurate assessment. Any parent trying to control (not simply advise) where their child goes, as an 18yr adult...indeed has obsessive control issues. I'll say it again....Van will be legally considered an adult...living under his own damn roof, eating his own food....wearing his own clothes, trying to develop himself as a young man and professional (athletically and/or vocationally), so he can well provide for his family a few years from now. What's next? His momma trying to tell him who he can and cannot marry? "She's not black enough, son" or "She's not from the right side of town, son...you aren't having anything to do with that girl...boy!"
She needs to take the training wheels off and step out of his way. That's what Reggie McKenzie said he did with Khalil. But, at this point, I'm done hearing about his momma (trying run things). This is the ugly part of recruiting, for coaching staffs, and why many NFL coaches don't want to have anything to do with this kind of BS. It's hard enough recruiting the kids themselves, without compounding the problem further with parents who can be way too controlling and obsessive.
We need to just wrap it up with Newsome and call it a day. Kid is going to be Pig Howard 2.0 and a major weapon on Kick Returns.
