Technically, I believe that only the signature of one parent is absolutely required for a National Letter of Intent. If I were Van and had a father who was not only an NFL coach, but one at my position, I would place a heck of a lot more credence in his opinion and wishes in this matter than dear old moms. Having said that, motherhood is a sacred institution and sacrifices must sometimes be made for the sake of domestic tranquility. All of the damage control in the world probably will not bear fruit in terms of Vans coming to Tennessee until and unless a formal apology is made by Coach Thigpen or whoever is responsible for this diplomatic blunder.

Technically, he doesn't even need a Letter of Intent. He can just enroll in June for session one of summer school and be put on scholarship. LOI is an unnecessary document. It only exists to contractually bind the player and school together.
I'm pretty sure the parent signature is only required if the athlete is under 18 also
So your saying you would take "Midget Newsome" over "Giant Jefferson"? Jefferson is NFL seasoned, plus he wants to be with us. Come on Van tell mama to chill #gbo
