'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

You mean for the rest of this young man's life he'll be known as a cowardly traitor in his birth state bc his mother was miffed at something?

Or, really, he sees too much talent at UT to compete?

You'd think with his and his family's exposure to higher levels of football, etc he and his family wouldn't be so "dramatic" about everything but they've turned this into one hell of a story so far. First he was an EE, but changed cause he couldn't decide where to enroll. Mom has screwed it up for her son so he can't go where he really wants to and can't seem to find comfort in a 2nd choice. What a cluster....

You want to label a high school kid a cowardly traitor because he may want to go play out of state. That's taking it too far.

This X1000. Glad this is no longer TN's problem. A parent like this almost always causes drama and problems for the school the kid selects. Let another program deal with that kind of crap.

I don't know anyone that would call him that. He isn't from TN like a Jalen Hurd or Josh Malone etc. he moved to TN because his dad works for the Titans. He doesn't have any allegiance to the school or state. Although it does sound like he really likes TN but mom doesn't.

I'd rather him go to OK than UGA or Ole Miss. OK isn't going to ever be a threat to Nashville like Ole Miss can be and we wouldn't play him at UGA.

OK getting Riley as OC must be the game changer in Barton's mind. his offenses put up video game stats

Yeah Van has told be Oklahoma aTm would recieve visits. He also said CBJ has called his mom as did his dad. Don't know the results but things are being initiated on UT behalf. Looks like a reach but he is hoping to get things rectified asap so he can try and visit. Also his dad told me that he's even trying to help resolve things.

He rose 95 spots to 138 in the Rivals250.

"Jefferson looked bigger than his listed 6-foot-1 and 166 pounds, and physically he showed an advantage over most defensive backs he faced. What really caught our eye at the Army Bowl, though, was how smooth the Georgia commit is running routes. His movements are natural and efficient and he gets on top of defensive backs in a hurry." -- Helmholdt

Did we ever find out what in the world was said to his mom or in front of his mom that was this bad? Thanks guys!

Wow, that must be some serious stuff to get mom that upset. If dad and Van want him to go to UT and it would be closer for them to visit Van wouldn't she at least want to leave the door open for CBJ to appease/make things right with her? If it was Thig that she had an issue with he wouldn't even be Van's position coach.

I am fine with it either way but I hope the young man is happy where ever he goes.

Rumor has it that she was anti-UT all along and was stonewalling us at every turn even though Van seemed to favor us. One of the coaches got fed up with it and called her a "b***h" under his breath. She heard it and was furious, leading her to be even more anti-UT. I have no idea if there is any truth to it.
