'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

It was a great day and impression on momma. As I have stated it was getting her on board that was key. Also on the comparison thing it kind of hard to compare him. Van is a very technically sound WR but who wouldn't be with a dad that played and coached in the NFL. The trip to Fla is primarily for a family visit. They're headed to Jacksonville in which is Coach's hometown. On UGA Richt is a very likeable guy and all their campus is nice too but when I say dad is all in on UT I mean he's all in. Another factor for UT is Josh Malone. He and Van have grown close and communicate on a regular. Not calling it a lock but I'd say it's gonna be hard to beat them with the work they are putting in. I mean guys they've been to Titans OTAs, minicamps etc. On a side note OSU is trying to pull all strings they hired the wr coach from Ravenwood about a wk ago. This really infuriated Coach Jefferson too as he stated they think I'm dumb but I can see right throught this.

Why on Earth would you insult someone's intelligence like that? They know he's in the profession.

Also, who is corner36?

Former Vol Buck Fitzgerald... Now trains mid state recruits I think.

This would be an incredible pull. Hard to lock down a state if you don't get the top talent in it. Need to get this kid. You really can't have enough talented WRs.

You know I've heard on here a lot and other places that if Saban wants a recruit then it's a done deal. Well, I think that we can start to use that kind of statement for CBJ. You think staffs aren't saying we can't let this recruit visit Tennessee..lock him up. The times they are a changin.

To bolster your statement, I saw on twitter where a recruit who'd visited Auburn said the Tennessee trip was off but he was still going to visit some other school. You don't think Gus is aware of what's happening or mad as hell over Gibson spending so much time here? Oh they're taking notice. :)

Why not go find a study that shows where WRs don't want the ball.

It is human nature for a WR to want the ball. Top WRs do not sign with a school to be downfield blockers the majority of times.

Ask Duke Williams.

It's urban Meyer. He takes the do whatever it take route to get a player. Vonn bells mom gets a job to secure committment. He realizes he can't win the dad over butch and z so he tries to go around him in a desperation move. The problem is that only works when the kid hates their dad which isn't the case here.

Exactly my thoughts. Any father who is in their kids life would take that desperation move by OSU as a total slap in the face. I wonder if the guy they just hired was the guy posting here over and over saying Van was an OSU lock and had already decided months ago?

I never disagreed at all. I agree with that statement 100% I just wanted to read the actual study. Science behind that kind of stuff interests me

I never agree with DT QB's. We have had some of the finest and never won anything with them. Holloway was the most outstanding athlete I have ever witnessed in Neyland. And Jimmy Streater was called the streak for a reason. But both of them ran a renegade offense that often confused their own players and even lost games for us.

If you want to use Tee as an example of success, they limited his role during his senior season. Go back and look at the games he played in as an underclassman and you will see that he was more a runner but Cut made him stick to the pocket and put the ball in the playmaker's hands in 1998.

I would rather have a field general any day, who is competent in the offense and knows how to pick defenses apart. As a receiver I would think that it is even more important.

I saw mention on another board not long ago that there was a coach at his HS who was promising to deliver Jefferson to OSU. Which I would think would make any father involved in their child's life furious.
