We have some nice defensive back talent on campus and coming this year. Should seee some practice wars like we had back in the 90's again soon. Wouldn't give the edge to the wideouts yet.

No big deal. Van is fast too. Runs track for Ravenwood I believe. OBJ is a smaller, more compact WR, while Van is a longer, lanky type WR. But we are comparing physical attributes of an NFL rookie and a HS senior, so a lot could change in that regard once Van hits the weights in a college strength program.

Haven't seen enough VJ tape to determine his style of play myself, so I'll roll with your comparison in terms of playing style.

Closer to 6'1 IMO. Have seen him in person a couple times play basketball. My son actually guarded him a few times last year. He's very light and quick off his feet. Explosive leaper. Needs to gain some weight, but you can see the talent.

Ok...good to know. Thanks. I have seen him listed anywhere from 6-1 to 6-3, so I wasn't sure which was legit.

You take the cream of the crop instate talent. We did a great job of that last year. I think the staff will continue doing so in the future.

It helps with guys like Malone recruiting him also.

I would rather for bad for them in practice than I would in a game. Going up against them in practice it won't be that bad when the lights come on and they are going to be ready.

Yup. Last 6 have been to us, including Barton Simmons (who originally CB'd Jefferson to Penn State). As much as we hate to admit it, we all know Franklin is a good recruiter. We can't let him take any of our in-state targets. Would be nice to beat out Urbie and Franklin for this kid.
